Smooth - What seat is that on your signature pic? I like how the back seat looks like a short backrest for the driver.

Mornin Pop

Not your fault. Cruiser customizing links tend to do that.

That's a Mustang without the drivers backrest Smooth has. Mine has the backrest and you can see how the seats are slightly different.

Looks a lot more comfortable than the stock one. Trying to find a good seat for the wife and I on trips. So I'm always reading anything posted on seats. Especially when there's pic.'s!

I think a cinder block would be more comfortable than the stock seat. My recommendation is to find and sit on as many different seats as you can before you buy since most of them are kinda pricey. I didn't have that luxury since 99% of the bikes around here are Harley's or crotch rockets.

Re:New Seat 1 Year, 3 Months ago
dseward - As RoadieFF said, mine is a Mustang Wide Vantage seat and we have the matching passenger backrest. Here is a link (if I did this right :

http://www.hellrisercustoms.com/review.php?prod_group=1&item_no=MUST-75216

The main reason for switching is (a) I need a driver's backrest for long trips due to a bad back (the overlap provides only minimal support) and (b) my wife is not completely happy with the pillion. If you look closely at my signature pic, there is almost a 1.5-2" gap between the end of the pillion and the start of the passenger backrest. My wife is 5'-4" and if she sits in the "sweet spot" of the seat and leans back against the backrest, then it will hurt her back after awhile.

We are very pleased with the look and quality of the Mustang Seat, but seats are a preference thing and if the wifey is not happy....then no one is happy!

Smooth - Thanks for the link. Looks like a fair price. I noticed the seat on mine sits forward to the backrest a bit. So that span is not that big a deal for the wife. She's just a little bit smaller than me. (In case she reads this I won't give details!) She just needs a bit softer and wider than the stock seat. She doesn't mind short runs but keep her on there for more than an hour and she's not happy! (She does have a chronic illness though so just to get her to try riding again has got me happy! And she actually enjoys the RS so far.)
If I could mount a lounge chair type cushion on it she'd be really comfortable. But that would take to much duct tape and I don't want it to look like a Red Green special Edition!

My wife also found the stock pillion seat uncomfortable...

The problem is the pillion seat is too soft...

You need a wider and firmer seat than stock to absorb the shock of the bike pounding her behind...

Or go get a couple of chrome spacers and longer bolts and make that backrest meet her somewhere in the middle. When momma's happy, she'll ride further. Trust me. BB
