I have rode with, and would ride with MS1700 any day in any conditions. He has ridden thru it all and has the skill to get thru it. He is not 13 and deserves better than insults.

+1

Trust me, MS1700 doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. I'd be his wingman any day.

And I thought I was crazy for riding into December here in Maine, I seem to remember that (MS1700) rode for a bike event that happens on New years day no matter the weather. If we had that here in Maine, damn straight, I'd do it, why, cause its there asking to be done, why do people jump out of planes, why does drkstr22 come to Bentleys whenever he can, CAUSE its there waiting to be done. Cold weather, bring it on!!!

Really???? Are you 13?

The fact that you took pics to prove you rode in snow proves that you thought it was dangerous and needed proof to show everyone your nerves of steel.

Hey brother. I don't know where you live. I hope it's a nice warm place. I was born and raised it upstate New York. The winters here are long enough and hard enough to make you consider suicide from time to time. Unless you really like cold and snow.

One year, I was so piss poor that I had no choice but to ride my bike all year round.
Before that when ever I saw a guy rideing his bike in January, when the temp was sub zero and the weather was so bad that not even frosty the Snow man would come out to play. I thought (wow, that dude is a die hard biker) What a bunch of BS. That dude was riding because he no choice etheir.

There were times when I got to work and I could hardly get off my bike because I was frozen stiff. One time my boss wanted me me to go to the hospital because my left eye was frozen in my head and would not move with my right eye. After I warmed up both eyes worked together. That was up.

One day during a snow storm I tried to get to work, but I dumped my bike about 10 times in the first block from my house. I call the boss and told him what was up. He told me to find a new job.

The next day I went and bought a car for 100 bucks. What a piece of crap. I got my piece of crap job back. it was not worth it.

10 High Whiskey kickin my azz again.

RCStephenson I forgive your remarks. You asked I answered. On the RSC you will have to get used to getting answers to questions you ask You pick the ones you want to heed. Free world.

Lucky, I learned same was as you!

About 30 years ago (Yes I am over 13) I was fresh out of the Marines, I met a woman who had two kids and the father left with no support, I took them all in and gave them my only car so she could get them to the Dr's and school. I rode the bike, In Ohio, (can be tamer than NY weather) year round for two years until I got 60K on my bike and made enough to buy an extra car. It was 30 miles to School for me and 10 to work back then.

I was forced into riding in bad weather and all weather. That's how I learned. Being a professional driver helps a lot, I see a lot, I experience a lot that helps me know what to expect. Keeping in mind what my father said. "Just when you think you can handle that bike, it will handle you." He was right when he said that when I WAS 13, and riding dirt. And any one of us can be got at any time.

Mr Stephenson, the pictures were taken to show what a great job the DesertDawgs do in in-climate weather. www.leadermotorcycle.com uses he same pictures in his ads. That is my bike. After a 50 mile ride in a blizzard from Cleveland Ohio to Warren, Ohio. I went to work and it was cold, 3 days later I came home at the start of a blizzard and I just rode home. I try not to set out in that weather but If I get caught in it I ride home in it. Only because I know how. If I said I did it and posted not pictures who would believe it? I did a lot in the Marines that I can't say because, I have no pictures.

I have 50K on my Roadstar that I bought new in 08. Mostly two up riding in any weather conditions. I'm an Iron Butt Association member, and my Passenger to me is the world's greatest passenger, She also has a bike and a MC endorsement. It's nothing for us to ride over one thousand miles in less than 24 hours and if you look that up on the Iron Butt site, it has been certified.

Every year Warren Harley Davidson has a Winter warrior ride in, during the month of Jan. We do it every year. This year we waited until Jan 31st, the absolute worst day of the year to drive, Ice with snow on top. Here we are.

In front of the Harley Shop that gives out the winter Warrior T Shirt.

And why not stop at the Yami shop and mess with them for not giving out a T Shirt for same thing.

You can see many of the "Crazy" people you are afraid of who rode ALL KINDS of bikes in for the Winter Warrior T Shirt here.
http://warrenharley-davidson.smugmug.com/
You will see our picture there every year. Look!

Inside my bag is this notice,

If it was more attractive, It would be on the outside.

What is on the outside rear of my HD King Tourpak, is a decal that has the phrase I like to say I coined while in the Marines.

Don't follow me...... You won't make it!

There has been a few members here that have followed me and made it. Fireman stuck to me like glue on 555 in Ohio one day with his big wheel while I showed him what a Darkside tire would do.

Ironman, that poor soul got behind me and Makcap when he was chilling and I was trying to beat the deer and make 700 miles by dark. LOL We claim it to be The longest sustained run of 100 plus MPH by Roadstars Thanks to the BMW and Mercedes for the front door. (no it wasn't dangerous at all before you get started) Just illegal if you get caught. Its a calculated risk I don't advise copying.

Makcap rides with me a lot! I have to admit sometimes I'm not the easiest to put up with. He complains I don't use cruise control or throttle lock. I know the highways of this nation and I know when to speed up and slow down. I can't do that and use cruise or TL.

None the less, Freshboarder.

You hang out here, you'll learn a Lot. I learn something new everyday reading here, although I don't post a lot, I post long! LOL And even the newest of members had taught me something or turned me on to a new product I had not heard of. Here at the RSC Our Standards Set Standards.

I recently learned about the use of http://www.hylomarsealant.com/

Cured a problem I have had for years. Also great to stick your lips together.

Ride what your able to and a little bit more, and you will always progress.

Thanks to all who helped clear things up about my riding and not being 13.

Oh, one final note. Marines say Pure or Nerves of steel and sex appeal all the time. You must be 17 to Join and 18 before you get into the sheet. Semper Fi.

Ride what your able to, and a little more.

I'm glad you have learned to ride in all types of weather, I've been forced to ride in some myself but wouldn't by choice. The remark that I still think sounds like a 13 year old is the "Nerves of steel is sex appeal." It goes right along with "Hey watch this, I do it all the time." and "Hold my beer". At some point in my life I realized that 'Nerves of steel can lead to hospital bills'. We all have different levels we are comfortable with, some ride no helmet, some ride in shorts and sandals, some want full leathers year round. I simply inquired as to the mentality it takes to ride in a tropical storm and you answered with the nerves of steel quote and it is something my 13 year old would say (it's akin to 'chicks dig it'.

As for riding in the tropical storm, sometimes people wonder if they can instead of if they should. 40-50 mph wind with gusts up to 70, sideways rain and blowing sand is not in my comfort zone and not something I would intentionally ride into, no matter how sexy it would make me

You've already forgiven me...but I do apologize for any disrespect I showed, but I will continue to think people that ride in Tropical storms or worse are a bit touched!

RSTstephenson the coment "nerves of steel is sex appeal" im sure was more of a sarcastic joke rather than his world view im sure, thats just how he rolls. you seem to be holding onto that phaze awfully tight, are you offended by that coment somehow bravery and foolishness are in the eye of the beholder. my mother-in-law still to this day thinks that everyone that rides a bike is gunna die in some horrible crash while on a motorcycle, so to her riding a motorcycle is a "hold my beer" or "hey watch this" kinda thing.

You may be correct, it's hard to tell inflection and tone on a forum, I guess I shouldn't have taken him literally.

Not unsure of my sex appeal, quite positive I can turn a few stomachs...I question my wife's eyesight and taste often.
