Erdody Seats with pics 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I thought I would share some pics of the two different E.D. designed seats along with the stock. Take note of a few areas of the E.D.design that I feel makes this the best designed seat on the market. First is the nose area, you will notice it is narrower than stock which eliminates pressure on the bottom thigh area. The second area is the top portion where the tailbone area is, You will see with the level that I placed on top {notice gap from bottom of level to seat} that it is dished out to eliminate pressure here as well allowing your sit bones to contact the seat in the correct areas. The stock seat however does just the opposite it is higher on the tailbone area and drops on the outside putting more pressure on the tailbone and less on the sit bones which as you know causes riding fatigue. The next area is the ridge area which is the area behind the tailbone this area prevents you from sliding back to far. And also notice from the side pics that the seat is sloped slightly back so that you do not slide forward. These pics were taken on my 2009 R* set up for solo riding. This is just a small sample of some points of the seat I thought were important. I will provide more pics later with others areas such as the pass seat the solo backrest, the passenger backrest on the sissy bar and the rider backrest built into the pass seat. I hope this helps to answer some of the questions that some have been wanting to know. If you have any others please feel free to ask.

Good job, Thanks for the timme & effort. I wish they were around when I bought my current (Ultimate seat) I would have done the touring seat.

+1 and I bet they are water resistant, and don't have nuts and bolts that fall off without threadlocker. And they actually fit right. Minus the extra waterproof $60 covers, priceless.

Wow nicely done! The pic with the level really shows what I hated about the stock seat. That crown is only designed to make the stock seat easy to cover. Too many nerves to pinch around the tailbone.

MS1700, good point on the rain covers. Kept me from buying the Ultimate seats.

I have the Ultimates, never had any hardware fall of. I leave the covers on
if looks like rain but only takes like 45 seconds to install less to
pull them so no big deal. Having said that I would have given the ED seat
a shot if I was currently looking. The more option the better.

Thanks for the pics. These are the best ones I've seen to show the differences. E-D should use them on the web site.

Hey Bud, how much of a comfort difference is there between the low and touring? Am I giving up that much by going with the shorter of the two?
