Looking good. When I did mine I left my stock foam alone, just in case I ever wanted to go back. I went to a fabric store (Jo--Anns) and bought new foam to cut up. I think it was like $10. And they have rolls of leather (pleather) pretty cheap too.

Smokes what kind of tools are you using to shape the foam?

Lol, the low budget way. Recip saw to hog of the bigstuff and a full piece of 50grit sand paper and alot of sanding works good but slow witch aint bad cause its hard to take off to much the whole butt area is sand paper I just used the saw to narrow the pan and cushion. The foam factory near me sells memory foam in 18"x18"x1" pieces $13 for 3lbs and 18 for 5"lbs. When I get a minute I will run out there and pick my poison.

Re:my first atempt at a stock seat mod (pics&update) 1 Year, 7 Months ago
ok guys so jeckels kindly reminded me that i have been idle on my seat mod so after i tried memory foam i found it was very hard for me to shape and it was way to soft for me. even the 5 lbs and that was the firmist i could find. so i tried out a ultra lux foam and im very pleased with it its firm but not as firm as the stock seat and i covered it with a top .25" layer of medium lux foam. the first time i put it on the blue color made the imperfections pop out at me here are a few of those pics

the top left of the seat is higher than the rh side and the right side back half dont cut in as fast as the left side does glad i seen it before the leather went on but still sucks i had to pull that top layer off and sand the leftovers off

well i just went out there and fixed my seat as best as i can tell anyway dont mind the bundled up foam under the seat i have a bungie cord holding the foam tight till the glue dries then i will need to go back and trim off the excess and fix the spots that the foam could not conform to because of the severe bends. true feelings on the workmanship is welcome as i would much rather fix it now than after i get the leather on

Found a used one on ebay with a slight tear on the side of the cover. For 50$ I figure I can't hardly mess it up too bad. A local boat seat cover repair guy is gonna recover it for me once I get it wher I think I'll like it. Got all winter and still have the stock one so no hurry.
