Geeeze...will this ever end? The guy that mounted mine was whinning when I asked if he would mount it (yes)...was whinning when I brought it to him to mount (your going to regret it...i know somebidy that did and hated it etc...) . I said I wasnt looking for his opinion and do you want to mount it or not. He did and was still whinning when I picked it up. Not to mention his claims that it wouldnt even fit on my bike after it was mounted.
Wrong wrong wrong. And the thing I love MOST about this tire IS the cornering. Sooo smooth. Lije riding in glass and I TRY to scrape floorboards on every turn. Straight down the hwy she just floats. No wobble etc.
Guess what im saying....is if you dont have one why do you (whoever) give your opinion of what someone you know said? If you dont want one...dont get one. Why the need to continually post it? To set the record straight. I could care less if you guys run bicycle tires on your Motorcycles. I was just commenting on first hand info. I was seriouly considering a car tire. You internet guys had almost convinced me... But The guy that mounts my tires does over 400 tires a year, all kinds... He said he mounted 9 car tires last year and all came back to have a M/C tire put on but one guy...He has no reason to lie to me. I am sure he wouldn't miss the $20 bucks I spend to have him mount and balance a tire ever 6 or 8 months! He offered to call a coupla of the guys for me to talk to before I decided whether to put one on... I said no! As I said before I have know this guy since he was 12 and you fine gentleman badmouthing him with out ever meeting the man is extremely unfair...I was quotin a man that had rode the car tire for over a year and he repeated the same as I have heard others say...... So don't get your panties in a wad, ride what you want nobody cares. If you can't handle comments about the car tire, motorcycle debate..... Quit posting about it....

AG, I'll agree and respect your choice. I made my decision on the number of people who have Roadstars with the Comtrac tire and the positive input from these guys. Of ALL the people I've read about and talked to in person who have the Roadstar with the Comtrac I made my decision to put one one and I love it. My tire guy tried to warn me too, I think he felt funny about it and wouldn't do it himself, but with almost 6000 miles on mine, I 100% love mine. I know Madcap and MS1700 both love theirs too.

So I'm going on who has a Roadstar and has tried it, not a shop guy who said 8 out of 9 brought it back to go back. Ride my bike and decide for yourself if you want.

I wish there was a Roadstar nearby I could ride that had one on it... But alas not so.... I Traded for a Goldwing a few years back with a Car tire on it, and couldn't wait to get it off...

Well all I can speak for is my experience, after only 8k out of the last 2 tires I had to try something different. In all fairness I tried both ends of the spectrum,a Shinko and a Metz. I got 3k out of the Shinko and 5k out of the Metz. I know that my size {6'4" and 320lbs}and my riding style {somewhat aggressive } have a lot to do with it. I use my bike as my primary mode of transportation,
I ride every day except the days it is raining when I leave for work. With that said I put 300 miles on yesterday. I adjusted pressure tried different surfaces and a wide range of speed. I see that if you are not inclined to "tinker" a little you might not be satisfied. I for one love mine. The cornering is great, the braking is outstanding, and I have not felt anything out of the way at 95+ mph. To answer your question Kai, I did lose a little ride height due to the tire I chose because I was a little worried about clearance. There are a lot of us that ride where I work, some want to try it others say they never will. All I know is they all took notice when I left the parking pad Friday and drug the floorboard all the way around the traffic circle.

Damn Sam, I am 6'4" and 240, and the bottom of my floor boards looks like someone has used a grinder on them...These things are easy to drag the boards on and mine has the stock height.. I wish I could raise mine a tad..

The bad.... Since its a slightly smaller ttire my speedo is off by about 8 mph now instead of 5 mph. That doesnt bother me since I tend to go with the flow regardless what the limit is. If im not around traffic I already kn(w to adjust by 8 mph or so. The worst of it is that my mpg has dropped from about 45 mpg to 41 mpg and the odometer is log6ing more miles than you actually have traveled.
The good.... The tire rides like a dream and feels like theres a new suspension in the rear. It eats up those small bumps in the road and the chatter. Cant even feel them anymore. Cornering is fantastic! In long sweeping turns it holds its line effortlessly. No wandering or constant adjusting. If I settle into a turn at say 2 feet from the the outside line it stays there throughout the turn untill I exit the turn. Straight line riding is the same. It tracks straight effortlessly.
Ive settled at 38psi. I can say next time I will TRY to find the taller ct to get my height back and get my mpg back....but I will never go back to the mt as long as I can get the ct when I need it.
On the front I went with the only tire I could get my +ands on at the time w/out 6oing to the stealership. A Maxxis ProMax 130/90/16. Never even heard of them before. Not an expensive tire but so far it seems to be fine and handles everything ive thrown at it. Wet or dry. Wanted to go w a 140 and will soon.
One other thing re cornering. If you only lean into turns the ct will feel like you have to force it into a turn. But if you do it like your supposed to.."push/pull"...its effortless and a beautiful thing!

When a experienced Tire guy tells me 8 out of 9 guys went back to the Motorcycle tire .. I would have said "yeah probably so they could sell the Bike.. most of these guys spend MORE TIME on the Forums talkin about bein a biker .. then ACTUALLY ridin the dam things..

You have said some off the wall crap on here in the past, Veette, but posts like this are completely unnecessary. You know nothing about the circumstances why a person got limited miles this year, nor is it up to you to even comment on it. You, as I, am a guest here. We all expect you to act as such.
