wrecked bike (estimate) 4 Years, 7 Months ago

Today was a very bad day! I backed my large 4 wheel drive up a few feet in my driveway and pushed my r* over. there are dents and scratches on the tank and rear fender, both turn signals on left side are broke to include the light bar, clutch lever curled up, shifter bent, handle bars are slightly bent, rear pulley has a couple small flat spots on the edge, and the license plate bracket is done for. There may be more damage under the surface, i dont know. Can anyone give me a rough idea to how much the claim will/should be. Thanks for your time and for Gods sake back up carefully!!!!!

Dang, I dont know what the cost would be but man thats a hard lick. I would have probably stood the bike back up, sat on it and made the wife back over me at that point. Hope it doesnt cost you too much

You might want to take the list to a dealer and let them price it.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. Right after a good cry (gives the neighbors sumthin' to talk about) I'd start taking inventory on the damage. A rule of thumb is your best guess plus 30 - 40 % if you tag the dealer for parts (my 2 cents ). Hope your insurance company in in a generous mood.

I am so sorry to hear this. Take it from me, as I just dropped my brand new bike in a parking lot. I didn't even have it a week.
I also have a big truck but luckily for me I keep the bikes in the garage and the truck in the driveway. Keep an eye on your review.

Higgie, the cost will vary from bike to bike. If you are mechanically inclined, you can get an inventory of the damage, get prices from your local dealer on the parts, then when they come in, you install them. It will save you bunches, and I didn't catch your year model, but if it's old enough, you doing the work could keep it from the totaled list. I dropped my 04 Shadow in a gravel gas station parking lot in 05, did 5500.00 damage, and it was almost totaled. Hitting it with your truck Probably did not do hidden damage, but insurance co's. know more parts might be needed after initial assessment. Just a couple thoughts, sorry to here about it. BB

Higgie,
I'm sorry but my damage wasn't insurance worthy. My husband fixed it all
and you would never know it was dropped. Not to mention I am on a Bandit 1250 now, so my cost would not be the same as yours. I mostly had scratches and a busted front directional.
Like BB said if your mechanically inclined you should be able to cut cost a lot by putting it back together.
My husband is and he did mine (Thank God!).
I was totally sick about this and I know what you are feeling.
Chris
