women that ride roadstars? 4 Months, 1 Week ago
in australia the last year that roadstars were available new yamaha only bought them out in purple and a really awesome raffa color,
but i havnt met a lot of blokes that like the purple and i have never seen a woman riding one either,
apparently it was ment to be a female alternative or something, they also done this with the xvs950 releasing a pink and white one,
is there any women on here that have one or was it something that they thort would work and didn't?

Don't mind the purple at all. It's just a matter of personal preference.

What is raffa?

My wife has a Vstar, but it's 'Galaxy Blue and Raven' (not to be confused with black and blue).

Well its good that peoples opinions don't matter. In reality there's several different colors that could be considerd purple. My 03 is called purple constantly but Yamaha calls it Deep Violet and Plum something. I constantly...let me say again CONSTANTLY get comments FROM women like...damn that bikes beautiful! That's from women on Harley's,women on thief feet, women in their cars at red lights. Almost daily I hear it.....men included. And I constantly hear.." its nice to see a bike that's not black"....although I have nothing against black bikes.
I wasn't crazy about the color when I got it but I love it so much now...when I repaint it will be the exact same violet with black instead of the plum everybody thinks is black anyway. It will just be a different pattern than the stock pattern.
Different strokes for different folks. Hell you may think your girlfriend is gorgeous and I may think she eats Purina.
So with that said...here's some purple below for ya

When I was shopping for a ride I saw a R* up in PA that was two tone purple/violet whatever you wanna call it. I was pretty dubious until I saw it in person and it was not unattractive. If the seller had been a little more flexible on price or it had more equipment I might be riding it.
