Because I write wordy post, I made up LSS = Long story short. Phrase I've been using for years. Not sure if it helps though! I like the explanations, helps others. BB

cc = cubic centimeters

mm = millimeters

ci = cubic inches

crmo = chrome moly. A type of very strong steel

ti = titanium

Nemesis = Nemesis Racing, manufacturer of high performance parts for the Road Star. powdercoatka@aol.com

OE = Orient Express, manufacturer of high performance parts. http://orientexpress.com/

Kury = Kuryakyn, manufacturer of aftermarket accessories. http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.asp

V&H = Vance and Hines, manufacturer of aftermarket exhaust pipes. http://vanceandhines.com/

HF = Harbor Freight Tools. http://harborfreight.com/

OD = outside diameter

ID = inside diameter

rev = revolutions, as in RPM

hp = high performance, or horse power

hc = high compression, usually referring to pistons

Bub = Bub, Inc. manufacturer of aftermarket exhaust pipes. http://bub.com/

HOK = House Of Kolor, automotive paint manufacturer. http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/index.jsp

hex = refers to allen headed bolts and screws

M5, M6, M8, M10, M12 = common bolt size used on the Road Star motorcycle. ‘M’ stands for metric. The number is the diameter of the bolt shaft, in millimeters.

VOES = Vacuum Operated Electrical Switch: device sometimes used to simulate the Throttle Position Sensor for aftermarket carburetors.

MAP = Manifold Air Pressure: device sometimes used to simulate the Throttle Position Sensor for aftermarket carburetors.

RS = Road Star

R* = Road Star

RSR = Road Star Riders forum on Delphi

R*R = Road Star Riders forum on Delphi

HSR = usually refers to the Mikuni high performance carburetor. http://mikuni.com/fs-carburetor.html

Flatside = usually refers to the Mikuni HSR carburetor. http://mikuni.com/fs-carburetor.html

main = usually refers to the carburetor main jet

pilot = usually refers to the carburetor pilot jet.

needle = usually refers to the carburetor Jet Needle.

ME = refers to Metzeler tire company, specifically the ME-880 Marathon tires used often used on the Road Star. http://www.metzelermoto.com/web/default.page

Psi = pressure. pounds per square inch.

rec = rectifier. In the Road Star, this unit is on the frame in front of the engine. Combined with the voltage regulator.

reg = regulator. In the Road Star, this unit is on the frame in front of the engine. Combined with the voltage rectifier.

pvc = type of plastic. Poly-vinyl-chloride

pcv = positive crankcase ventilator
