how to read part number 4 Months, 1 Week ago
According the the link below, the actual part number is the last 2 numbers of the middle 5 numbers of the part number
http://www.tangedal.no/XJ/PNumbers.pdf

So the question is
I am looking at stainless steel throttle cables on Ebay. It seems that the cheapest ones say they fit Vstar 650. The part number has a 48 at the last 2 digits of the middle 5. 48 also is in the part number for a Roadliner,Roadstar, Vstars 650,1100 and 1300. So I am assuming that all these cables are interchangeable.
RIGHT?
Vic

According to the Star catalog all the SSC have different prefix #s but they all have the same 48-10-SD for the throttle and 48-20-SD for the clutch cable. So I would say they are the same.

I don't know Vic1. There could be a length difference or maybe the 650 cables don't have the 90 degree bend at the carburetor end. One of the Techs just had the carbs off of a 650 yesterday and I can ask about the bend if you want.
