First, with respect to speculation that norsseman is Jona, it doesn't matter to us. Jona was blocked (as Jona) for rules violations, which we simply cannot tolerate. Go to any forum that does not enforce its rules and you will find the wild west with a lot of trolls and axxholes running around.

Jona repeatedly violated our rules, in spite of numerous requests from the moderators that he stop. One guy like that can make a moderators job require a lot more time and a lot less fun. The moderators are volunteer.

Unless a user is brand new and really being an idiot, we always try to work with them before resorting to a ban. We want them to remain here as contributing members of this community.

I understand that Jona is who he is. I like him too. I would ride with him anytime, anywhere. But if he can't follow the rules then who he is is incompatible with all the hard work that has gone into building this community. That includes a lot of hard work contributed by the members, not just the staff.

We have other members who were banned and came back as different users. If they play by the rules as these new users they are welcome to stay (even if we know who they are). Our goal is to include, not exclude. They simply have to abide by our very very simple rules.

We have also had users return from a ban as their original login name when they simply assured us they would follow the rules and then did so.

Rules

Thanks,

Gram

The owner of this forum...which is "GRAM" is the Moderator who made the final call!

In this case that is true as I was the Staff member who banned him for his last violation. However, my approval is not needed to ban a member.

Doc an I are co-admins on this site. We have equal authority in our software. He can do anything I can do. And to be frank he is a better admin than I am. My focus is really more keeping our server's oprational and programming when needed.

In addition, decisions are more frequently made by the entire staff. We like it that way. We are trading cowboy for community.

Just my take

Gram

Gram

I'm sorry. I did not start this thread with the intention of it turning into a debate about Jona. All I was trying to do was help out a brother who is on his last leg.

So back to the original topic. IF anyone is intersted in Jona's bike (at a pretty reasonable price) give him a call. I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from ya.

If you think it's rough here, go to Herfers Paradise. It's a site for cigar smokers.

But, unlike our little piece of the ethernet, it can be a War Zone over there and THEY even ban people!

I think most of us can agree that Gram, Doc, and the others are very fair here.

Thanks being said, I miss Jona, too. But if he screwed up, he screwed up. He's a big boy.
