this is me and the wife on my buddy's 2010 Cross Country. It is 106 cu in and plenty of tq. The only thing I would have to get used to is that it sets a little high for a short leg rider. other than that it is a very nice bike.

What the hell could you DO with a bike like that I mean, to make any cosmetic changes you would half to tear the whole thing apart.

Someone else's idea of style usually ain't mine But to each his own, some just like to buy em' and ride em'

If a younger "Crotch rocket" rider wanted to get into the larger touring bike, it would be a good fit. I think that's the way they were designed, by the younger riders who have crossed over, but still wanted some of the same styling.

The quality and workmanship of a Victory bike looks pretty good to me. Some of their models have better styling than others, but I could say that about any manufacturer.

The one thing that would bias my opinion would be a lack of a strong dealer network across the country. Back in the day I rode some Husqvarna and Maico dirt bikes. While I liked the idea of being different, numerous times my buds would be planning to ride their mainstream bikes on the weekends while mine sat in the garage waiting on parts because the availablity was limited (at best) for them.

just my .02 worth

If I ever did have a weak moment and bought a brand new bike It would be between a Srat or the Cross Country Tour Vic. The Vic has a lot more comfort for the wife, and it is more comfortable for me than a Ultra Classic. On the the other hand, after less than 18 months and 20k miles on my * I haven't had to do anything but change oil and replace tires. The only advantage I see in the Victory is the six speed trans. I'm hoping that Yamaha will follow Kawasaki and soon add it to their bikes.

Back when they first came out - and to this day .. I think the engines Too Tall , it just doesnt appeal to me . I used to think the bikes were too tall but the seat heights have come down.. great quality.. just no soul it doesnt look Mechanical enuff.. BUT the Victorys 6 speed is overdrive as opposed to Hardly Davidsuns 6 which is one to one..

of course the 2002 isnt a 6 speed ..

Rode a Vision last year and it handled like a sport bike.Hard to get use to the look of it and the saddlebags look large on the outside but really don't have much inside space. Now the new Cross Country tour model has the same engine but a more classic look with the largest bags and trunk I have ever seen.If I were to go for a tour type bike I think that Cross country would work great.Fit ,finish and paint look great on all the ones I've seen.
