George and I really appreciate all of the support and business we have received from everyone here, and we just wanted to say thank you to everyone. I strongly believe this is the best forum on the web. It is a great place to learn from each other, in order to enjoy our riding experience on another level. One area that helps us to do this is by having a comfortable seat, since this is where all of our time is spent and all of our weight is distributed when riding. Many here are enjoying this experience, some are still finding out about it.
That is why I have put together a list of reviews from fellow riders who have been willing tell others about the joys they are having. I hope this helps those who are still searching for a comfortable seat to have the confidence in purchasing an E.D. Seat. These are the reviews I have so far, it will be an ongoing list. If I have missed any I am sorry, feel free to reply below and I will add them.

*I chose the E.D. seats because of where the owner of the company was coming from and as a startup company I knew that quality of product and customer relationships would be very important. After talking with George I bought the Big Tour seat and the passenger seat with drivers backrest built in. Although to me this was a major purchase, the pricing was in the ballpark of other seats on the market. To me this has been the best money I have ever spent on my bike, on the first ride the seat feels a little different, but you forget about it, the next thing you know you've ridden for hours and you are still comfortable. The back rest is a huge difference, won't ever ride long distance without one. Long story short, excellant customer relationships, great product, real value for the money spent, highly recommend these seats. There is a trial period that if you aren't happy you can return them, but I don't see that ever happening.

* My 2 Cents
First off I have a 38 in waist and I wear jeans with a 30 inch inseam so for me the less than 32 model was the best place to start. I like things to work as intended and I tried my best with stock seat.
The stock seat requires you to sit on it properly, which does not mean as far back as you can push your arsse. I used to get on and pull out then raise my butt with my legs and let off the throttle and plant my butt forward the stock seat has a pocket you slip into and your knees now touch the tank initially you feel too far forward but suddenly your more comfortable. I thought long and hard about a seat purchase not so much cause I'm cheap as much as I hate to go thru everything and be disappointed with my choice. I could do about an hour an a half in the stocker non stop but then a cig break was needed and any ride resulted in a general body fatigue.
My first impression was very positive and the back rest that I almost didn't order is the to die for addition to the seat. The first evening I took it out for about 4hrs and 80mi.
The E.D. seat plants you properly every time and you are forward more but in a different way sitting adjusted on the stocker put my knee caps about an inch or so onto the tank, the E.D. has my knee caps just covering the edge of the tank badges, sounds like a lot and it feels different but not that radical of a CHANGE to make it a no go. Any adaptation to how I was used to the bike Feeling is offset by the amount of comfort other parts of my body feel.
Some interesting notes, you feel moved yet I did not have to re adjust my mirrors so how much did it move me as compared to how much it simply changed the way I sit on the bike, not being a big orthopedic know it all I can only say it feels like it straightens out the angle of my pelvis to my backbone which seemed to make my hips happy and the backrest allows my back and shoulders to actually relax .
While riding the stocker there was always an ongoing of changing the position of my feet on the floorboards all the miles I have put on so far my feet stay planted directly on the boards and I have no desire to move my legs or feet this tells me my legs are now in a relaxed and comfortable position or natural position.
Now if you followed along my shoulders, arms, back and legs are relaxed Saturday I took a ride did 2 1/2 hours in the saddle before stopping I Pee'd an finished the last 20 miles home I got off the bike and felt no fatigue what so ever I was,,,, well relaxed. I wondered if it was just a temporary mental thing but the lack of fatigue is consistent with all the miles rode so far.
The perching of the jewels is not drastic but it can call your attention to that area of the seat and if the seat was going to get sent back it was for that reason and I think I would have asked George to shave the horn down before abandoning the seat, took about three days of local riding and it was no longer a concern,,, an awareness that it is what it is and what I feel is the seat Breaking in, I'm getting a little pocket I feel I fit in and every concern up on the horn is pretty well out of mind. Make a note of that the seat does Break In (Good thing)
Two areas of the bike that were also improved radically by the seat were the handling and appearance. I shouldn't have been surprised after many many years behind the wheel of a Rig and sliding tandems that changing the placement of the cargos weight changes the ride and handling of the vehicle, the centering of the rider along with the feeling of leverage created by the backrest against the bars along with feet flat on the floorboards makes the bike or maybe the rider feel more confident and in control in the tight turns a little hip roll is now clearly delivered when needed.
The look it gives the bike is great and it fits perfectly with the OEM seat rail and looks like they belong together more than the stocker did. The RHS of the bike has always been my favorite view of the bike and the LHS always struck me as too bland even with the Seat Rail and Fender Rack. The E.D. Seat fixed that the LHS now to me has a new flair the angles of the seat and the Bucket Look it has catches your eyes like the pipes on the other side do and the fullness of the seat gives the Seat Rail an upward sweeping look that continues the eye to the rack,, a simple old classy look I love.
Wrapping up I'll say that without the backrest it is an OK seat I rode that way a couple hours too and it's good around town or as a bar hopper but if heading out on hiways for the good cruise you'll need the backrest to experience the full benefit of the seats ergonomics. While built right and sturdy it is amply padded and comfortable but far from a cushion it's padding is not deep and supple and it will Break in some, but I am a very intent sitter so you may feel differently about the Break in. In all seriousness I was thinking about 20?? Road King cause of overall comfort and effort to ride issues these issues are gone and Me the bike and seat will be riding together a lot longer than I might expect.

Awesome seat !!! Like sitting in a catchers mitt. you stay right there...
The stock seat when doing stops in traffic. you had to reset yourself from time to time.
Not this one... you stay put. I caught myself a couple times getting ready to wiggle a bit but didn't need to.
120 straight miles.. never got off and my butt never even felt a bit numb.
Even when getting off n walking I didn't have that bow legged arched over feeling...
Think my butt died and went to heaven.
I'd recommend this seat to anyone riding a RoadStar.

* I got my ED standard seat right before the end of the year last year and only got 1 ride in before I put the bike away. I finally got to take a real ride this weekend and put about 150 mikes on the new seat. That is about the time the aches would set in with the stocker, but with the new seat, I felt as good when I parked as when I started. Actually better, I just rode, lol. Can't wait for the OL to try her new seat, but she is more of a fair weather passenger.
The OL got to try out her seat tonight. Just a little 50 mile ride after dinner and not complaining. On the stock pass seat she would have had me stop at about 30 miles so she could walk around. Told me she felt like she could do a couple hours on this one. I can work with that, less looking for places for her to stretch=farther down the road.

* I just purchased and received the E.D. Standard (solo) and so far so good. I've had it for a week and have put about 200 miles on it. Quality and fit is top notch. Looking forward to an extended trip to really see the benefits.
I have the studded Standard and for the short period I have had mine, about 500 miles total, it is by far the best I've tried. I have the stock seat (2 of them), I have a Mustang (allbeit a Daytripper), I have had a Corbin (on my previous bike). On all of these after about 50/75 miles I was ready to get off. On the ED my longest stretch has been about 200 miles, with a short gas break, and there was no pain at all. I am very pleased so far.

* I bought the solo this winter and It is by far the best mod I have done on my bike to date. 200 miles is the longest ride on it so far. Butt didn't even know it was sitting down!!! 3/12
If there is a better feeling seat than the ED standard I will be greatly suprised. I have never had a more comfortable seat. If I could only do one mod to a stock Roadie, it would be the ED seat.

* I received my E.D. Seats 11x8 passenger backrest for my Road Star's Cobra square tubing, tall, sissy bar.
Mr. Mike Couch (chiefriceburner) is an excellent sales person. He answered any and all questions and concerns I may have had in a timely and professional manner. Plus, he even texted me to give me updates about my order. That really impressed me.
Mr. George's (Erdody) pad design and quality surpassed what I had imagined. The padding is soft, yet supportive.
My girlfriend is thrilled with the new backrest. She told me she feels more secure, more comfortable, and smiles even more!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I had a great experience with E.D. Seats and Mr. Mike Couch, and I hope to be purchasing a full rider and passenger seat set in the future.
I bought the passenger backrest pad a few months back from Mr. Mike Couch (chiefriceburner) and my girlfriend liked it so much we decided to get the rest of the set.
The front of the seat actually covers some of the tank and protects it.
I haven't put many miles on the seat, yet. the few I have I am very, very impressed with. My girlfriend hasn't had a chance to try out her new seat, but that'll change tomorrow.
Oops...forgot to mention which seat it is. My apologies. This is the E.D. Road Star Standard Seat. I don't really know how to explain this, but I am going to try. It feels like I am riding "in" the Roadie instead of "on" the Roadie. I feel like I have way more control and I have already taken some turns where I am leaning over more than I used to. With the OEM seat it felt unsafe lots of times to lean farther over. With the E.D. Standard I feel right at home. The best improvement to our Roadie followed by the rear progressive shock, then the front progressive fork springs.

God I love the comfort!!!!! Made a 200 mile trip today, if I had enough gas, I would not have to have stopped. Man, if I could only put into words how much pleasure it is to ride in comfort.
The E.D Seat is the most comfortable seat I have EVER sat on. I have ridden most aftermarket seats with nothing but pain after 30-45 minutes. Rode 100 miles non stop going and coming home. No stiffness, no pain, no fatigue, nothing but SMILES!!!!!!
Feels like I'm riding on a cloud (smiles), it's great! My butt thinks it's home in the
recliner. I've had lower back surgery, and riding was a short run here or there, stopping to
stretch, and relieve the stiffness. At the end of the ride I would limp with bent back,
looking many years older. This seat STOPPED that pain and stiffness, and makes riding
a pleasure again.
Now I'll be stopping when I need fuel, not every 30-45 minutes from discomfort.
Never knew a motorcycle seat could be so comfortable, but my E.D seat is just that. I
see 500-600 mile days in my riding future with no stiffness or fatigue at the end of the day.
Get one and ride with a smile. I put a total of 350 on mine between yesterday and last night.
I just can't say enough good about my seat. Mike has been very helpful, and is concerned
about his customers making sure they are happy with their purchase. I DEFINATELY am happy
with my new seat.

Ok so i dont have many miles n it. maybe arounf 200 or so. but that was spilt up. between days. its 60 miles total riding to work now. any way when I get my
carb back from curt. I plan on doing a 400 mile day to see what it does lol. But so far so good. And my girl loves the heck out of it. Over the stocker. She even offered to help me pay for it ha ha so its a win win situation for me. Any way thank u Mike for all ur excellant customer service. And tell George thats one top notch seat. Oh and I got the big touring edition.

* I bought a big touring seat with passenger seat from chiefriceburner (Mike) a couple of months ago and really like it. I had an ultimate before this and I like the B/T better. It sits me back a couple of inches which is what I wanted and a little higher so the view over the top of the windshield is just right. The improvement in comfort was noticeable as soon as I sat on it. By the way the transaction with Mike was excellent.

Thought I'd give you an update on the new seat after having it a month.
I'm still in love with it.
Took the wife out Saturday for awhile... She said "THANK YOU" for the cushy seat. she loved it. We did a little over 70 miles.
Sunday we went to Painesville for the "LOUIE RUN"
50miles there 50 back. Almost home and she was asking to go somewhere else cuz she was still comfy. She said she could do another
50 or so with no trouble. She said this morning her backside and legs felt great... And said "Thanks for the CUSHY seat" again.
I'm a happy Camper and so is my wife.
