I am trying to figure out how one travels across the continent with a tiny saddle bag. I wish I could travel that way. Oh I saw the movie twice. I like how the solitude of two wheel travel is portrayed.

It was actually a pair of evening purses strapped together! You could probably manage, but underwear and socks would be about the extent of what you could carry! I wondered about that hippie chick in the Cascades. I've never hooked up after hiking around in the mountains, but I would think folks would want to "freshen up" a bit before getting down 'n dirty!
Oh well, I never one-nighted anybody, so what the hell do I know? I was a little suprised that cowgirl didn't make an exception.

back in 1972 I rode my Norton from Montreal to Vancouver and I never heard of saddle bags. With long hair and a beard I thought a rain storm was a bikers shower and laundry!

Decent movie. Storyline was a bit hokey at times.
Good scenery and the thought of traveling cross country like that is something on my bucket list.

I think one of the things I liked the most was there were no stereotypes explored. Just a normal guy on a normal bike (well, a classic) getting out of it what so many of us do from time to time. I don't think non-riders would catch on, but nice to see a movie with prominent placement of a bike in a non-exploitive light.

I watched it last night too, after reading about it here.
I enjoyed it.
It was funny to see Gord Downey in there passin' him the doobie.

I saw this movie about 6 months ago and enjoyed it more for the "journey" moments than for the story. I agree it definitely had that indie flick type ending. I watch a lot of indie flicks just for that reason though - they don't always wrap up every loose ending in the last 5 minutes so that everything is perfect. Sometimes they end up on a down moment, sometimes they just end (TGI over...).
This one was entertaining throughout.
Unrelated: If you have the option of watching another indie flick called "Rubber", save that 1+ hour of your life. I know I can't get it back.

As different as we are, the road we travel is the same.
