Texas has the same law on bar height. Most shops will pass them on inspection, but they are liable if it is discovered that they passed it on inspection that way. 15" is pretty standard. I think it is from an old D.O.T. regulation for new bikes.

It's the same all over. Money is being cut left and right from all L.E. budgets. They are not saying you gotta get a quota but if you want a take home car or weekends off you might want to pick up the ticket writting. Most troppers would write their own mother a ticket Ticket writting always goes up when the tax revenue and federal govt money goes away.

As a chopper rider during the worst of times way back I can tell you that it's the only way to make them back off....know the applicable laws better than they do and then stick it to them in court, not on the road side. Back then they did it just for harrassment not revenue generation, talk about pissing you off.

Oh and it helps a lot if we don't behave like jackasses too.

NOw THAT's GOOD ADVICE.

Being from KY originally myself I still tell this joke.

Why do all the trees in KY lean north? Because Ohio SUCKS!

Lots of cars have that plate cover that blocks camera and I don't see them getting harrassed, seems like a god idea for the bike...

I've was pulled over once on my Honda I used to have one night going home.from school. Cop told me I had no tail lights and he actually followed me home so I didn't die... This was about 10 years ago tho... I don't remember the last time I saw a.scoot pulled over. The cagers give the local leo's plenty enough reasons to pull them over so we get left alone.for the most part it seems.

If a camera got you for speeding, ask for court and ask to be confronted by your accusor. It is a basic right. If the camera is not operated by a Law enforcement officer, you can beat it. Cameras are not deputies. That's how they are beating them in Texas.

Re:New Ohio State Patrol 'guidelines'... 1 Year ago
This really happened. In the 70's while I was awaiting discharge in Ca. I ran into a bud who joined up with me. I was off every night so ran the bars etc. Took him with me one night. He was on the back of my scoot, I made a turn and the lights came on. I pulled over put the kick stand down and went to meet the cop. He did'nt want me he wanted my passenger. Now this cop has a huge book on the hood of his car opened to a certain page. Made my bud read it then gave him a ticket for taking a foot off the peg while turning!!!! Believe it or not. Glad I live in Texas. Some of my vet buds who still live out on the shakey side and still ride say it is really bad now.
