So, let me get this straight. You're not suppose to stop that way? Damn, that explains why I'm the only one who needs new mirrors every other month and the funny looks I get.

True...though it really didnt look all that big...ah well...and the story was ironic...that they should require all riders to take a safety course.. And hey..at least she didn't lay down a R*!!

Not to change the subject but this reminds me of what happened about 3 weeks ago. My wife & I rode our bikes to Laughlin River Run. We were done for the day and were headed home as we passed a park over on the Bullhead Arizona side. They were doing Harley test rides. Just as my wife was coming up from the fast lane a group of bikes were just starting to pull out from the park. The demo leader and a gal on a sporty right behind him. As my wife pass this gal on a sporty starts to turn right and all of a sudden she must have panicked when she hit the bottom of the driveway while turning and instead of pulling in the clutch and catching herself she hit the throttle and just missed the back of my bike went past me and darted between 4 vehicles coming the opposite direction and then came to a stop by the curb on the wrong facing lanes. How she managed to not get slammed was a pure miracle. I was watching her in my rear view mirror as I saw her just miss me. I'll bet the harley demo leader was crapping in his pants too.

UM....she aint no damn biker babe. I hope she signed a waiver before she dumped it.

WTF!!! Am I the only one that noticed she could even operate the freaking helmet visor???? Okay, sooooo learn how to operate the helmet first, then learn how to ride the bike??

Well at least she followed my moto....."You might be bad at it, but at least look cute while you're doing it".....cute boots

Mine are 8 and 9, and they do the same thing, regardless of how many times I tell them not to!

Still, I laugh when people complain about the weight of a sporty. I took my fathers for a spin last fall, and after having my R* all these years and being the only bike I touch, it was like riding a bicycle. It felt like I could toss it around like a toy. They can't weigh much more than 300lbs.

And if she dropped a R*, it wouldn't be one guy going to pick it up real quick for her, it'd be a team of them.

My wife did the exact same thing the first she ever tried to stop on her old Sportster. Sportsters are top heavy to begin with and are easy to lay over at a slow speed. I think she recovered nicely and kept the report going with grace. Glad she did not get hurt.

In her defense, my sportster was a lot more top heavy than my R* and I could see someone that wasn't used to riding have this happen to them. She's not the first or last person to drop a bike, she just managed to do it in front of a live audience.
