I hate to be an armchair quarterback (OK, that's a lie!) but that guy's body position is all wrong! I tried a similar position once and ended up trailering my bike home!

That whole feet above the seat and bars looks better over a 70 foot triple. More suspension travel helps too, but the whole thing is usually done in the air, and you get back on before the "touchdown" seen here!

Ok...so I've been back riding now for a good bit since I was sent home from deployment with a few medical issues.
Starting out I took it easy since it'd been a while since I'd been on the bike. It wasn't long before I was comfortable and riding as I always had.
Now, lately for whatever reason...I'll be on a highway doing about 60 and a gradual right curve will be coming up. For no reason I all the sudden feel really unsteady / unbalanced..so I throttle back and take a curve that usually isnt an issue like an old man. Is this normal? I know in most things we all favor a side (ie; one is stronger than the other...I can turn left skiing better than right, rollerblading etc...)...but the only time I felt like that on the bike before was during the early stages of ownership.
I don't think its an inner ear thing, or it'd be happening while doing other things throughout the day. It's almost like I dont trust the bike to do what it will do if I just let it....has anyone else ever had something like this?
EDIT: Also, could it be an indication that maybe something is up with the bike...? Tire pressure etc?
Just another $.02, but whenever I feel like this my lean angle is wrong. Trying to push it with more body lean is the wrong approach. I have to correct the counter steering to get it right, then I can relax again. If my natural lean angle is right I just don't have this problem.

Right turns are more awkward for most. Push on the bar in the direction you want to turn and shift your weight to the outside of the turn leaning the bike. Also remember to take your turns outside inside outside to flatten the radius. This will make you right and left turns much better.
lol this is funny to me cause i like rh turns more than left i have no problems with a full lock right turn in a parking lot but i cant do it (yet) in a left turn. but i only have 10k miles in 4 years under my belt so im still a learnin i wonder if your comfort in how hard you can turn without thinking about it comes more from what handed you are, im left handed and can turn right hard but left turns not as well. when most can do lefts better and they are right handed

Maybe it's just your body's way of saying you're not quite as ready to ride as you thought, that you're skills in all aspects of riding aren't really all back to your previous level yet. Ride at a pace that makes you comfortable again and it will fade as your comfort level continues to grow. Trust your gut, it got you through this much in life, it will continue to serve you well.

After reading all these response's I think only a couple nailed it! IMHO I don't don't really think it's an issue with the mechanical ability of the bike, but it sounds like the exact same thing I experience from time to time, Rider's Anxiety. You're good to go for most of it but then all the sudden when entering a turn you have the urge to slow down quickly as a sudden fear enters your mind, and a lot of what if's. I personally think it happens to more of us than we admit (Macho Riders)but it's there. No worries Brother, plan your turns and leans well in advance and slow it down if you must, the only person we are here to please as we ride is ourselves in the end. Mine comes and goes, and I just deal with it on a as needed basis...You are NOT alone in this! Ride safe.

Exactly! It's not all the time...I look forward to every time I can get on the bike and ride. What's a real pisser is it'll hit you out of nowhere for no reason...it's like "WTF was that that all about?" I just yell at myself, take a deep breath, and it's gone. Never had it before until recently, though, and I really believe it's due to stress and lack of sleep, as I have an abundance of both right now.
Like grumpyroger said, it's YOUR ride, so do it how you're comfortable. It's better to get where you're going cautiously than not at all...or worse yet, driving a car!

Anyone else here seen the video Ride Like a Pro? I am thinking this will be worth getting, maybe even signing up for a training course; $150 for four hours.
