Don't worry........I won't tell anybody.
I had a freebie,83 Honda vf750c,(from my father-in-law for money he owed me.)..before I got my road star, when my wife and I went on a ride I felt like we were riding double on a ten speed bicycle.
after I got the road star.........she said"hell yeah!now we can ride to Houston,Texas...just think of all the money we can save in gas!"
I told her it would be a two day trip and she said"no way."
She has rode with me about 150 miles and then say's she can't do any more.I take her home and she cry's about her butt and back hurting,I feel sorry for her 'cause she is getting shots in her back and it must hurt to be on back taking a pounding going down the road.

They may only be on crotch rockets but I have seen it in the parts listing somewhere. I can pick my stripped one up buy both handle bar grips now I don't have to use the backup and lift method. I just grab the grip and put my hip into it pop up it comes. Guess I trimed a lot of weight off.

Re:Dropped the bike!!! NO ONE SAW ME!! 12 Months ago
I've dropped bikes (including my Roadie) several times.... worst one was in Key West with the wife on the back. She wanted to see the Coast Guard cutter down at the docks. I pulled into the parking lot at a snail's pace, turned in, and the front wheel sank in a chuck-hole full of soft powdery white sand. The wheel turned sharp, and the last thing I saw was my wife rolling off the back!... She got up, dusted herself off, and rode all the way back to St. Augustine later that day. She's a real trooper. We all do it sometime.

Good idea. But the trick is not to face the bike but put your back to it and squat down. I was lucky that it was laying on it's right side. I put the side stand down, grabbed the throttle with my left hand - holding the front brake - and grabbed somewhere near the back. I'm not sure, but somewhere around the seat. I just stood up and put it over on the side stand.

Laid mine down 4 times the first 2 years I had it, all at stopped or low speed. Front brake and wet leaves don't mix , short legs and the bike with the front wheel elevated don't mix , when the passenger jumps off the wrong side before your ready don't work , and last but not least, don't forget to put the side stand down when you stop and get off

OMG! It happened to me last week. pulled into a parking lot turning into a space at low speed, feet were down ready to stop. A litte to much front brake...boom down i go, funny, first thing i do is look to see who is looking, must be a guy thing. luckily my knee took all the weight under the bike, talk about pain. Not to mention contorting my body out from under it while trying to lift the beast. no damage to the bike, only my ego and my knee which still hurts.
I remember many bike dumps over the years. The worst was coming around a corner, leaned the bike down low, going maybe 30mph. Out of the corner of my eye i see this little collie chasing after me, made a B line right for my front tire, i hit the brakes and hit the dog, all i remember after the crash was seeing the dash board and lots of sparks....the pisser part was i must have hit a dog with 9 lives, im laying on the ground and the litte bastard got up and bit my leg, then bolted off. that was the day i sold my crotch rocket and bought something beefier. You can bet your bottom dollar, every time i lean, i look for that little devil dog, with the r* i cant imagine the same out come...

Don't feel bad. It happens.

Man, I've come close a couple of times in the last six months.

Like some of you, wheel got turned too sharply to the right, and it started to lean ... hard. Both times in front of outdoor restaurants, and with so few big bikes here, it attracts attention. EVERYONE was looking. As it is, it just as soon have gone down because I'm sure it was noticeable that I was having to use all my strength to keep it upright.

Thank goodness for the weight-lifting regimen, or it would've gone down. I was lucky.
