Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Memorial Day weekend. With it being the first major holiday of the summer, be a little more alert out there seeing as the trafic is going to be a bit heavier. I know this probably doens't need to be said, but i will anyways. especially for any newer riders (ahem...me included).
Most bikers i've met have always been a bit more on the Patriotic side than almost all other groups, but don't forget to take some time to remember why we have all the freedoms we have. All the servicemen and women who have made it at all possible since this countries birth. All too often the good of thousands of military members is shadowed by the bad of a few. Society tends to focus on this and this alone. Thousands of soldiers, sailors, and airmen won't be home with their families, or even in the country they've sworn to defend this weekend. Most of them won't complain the least bit about it either. They have a job to do and they're going to do it. Sacrifice is second nature to them. I want to thank each and every serviceman, past, present and future for what you've done for this country. I want to thank every family, father, mother, wife, husband, brother, sister, son, or daughter who can't be with their loved one this weekend. for those who have lost their loved one, or who may never see them again. Thank You. Families of servicemembers have just as big of a job as the ones out there in the thick of it.
As a Sailor, i live by the Sailor's Creed. The most important line in that creed to me personally is as follows: "...I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy AND THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE ME TO DEFEND FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY AROUND THE WORLD..."
Good luck, and Godspeed.
