Handling Question RE Beachbars v Apes in Twisties 1 Year ago
For those who've gone from Beachbars to Apes, [no more than 14"] how does the handling compare, especially in the twisties?

No doubt I love the look of the beachbars, and the comfort, not to mention the stability on the freeway, but I ride *a lot* of twisties and at times it feels like a bit of work. I was wondering if small to med apes might be a little better at handling.

Are you talking about comfort or handling? ...and again, keep in mind, I'm talking about twisty mountain roads, not freeways etc.

I will put it to ya this way... adding apes is like adding power steering... I can ride the dragon with one hand with my apes.... and I have witness to that... right Mike?

But, the told saying goes, the bigger the bike, the bigger the bars... meaning width wise... beach bars and apes should guide about the same... height is personal preference...

I don't think anybody ever added apes with the expectation that they would handle better...

Personally, I'm willing to take the turns 5 miles an hour slower and look cool as **** doing it...
