I say go with the apes! Personally I think they handle better, and are way more comfortable. But it is all rider preference. Any bike I own will have a set of apes on it. I am running 16in on mine.

I guess I fit this question perfectly.I had beach bars and always liked the LOOK of apes so when I saw a killer ebay deal for a set of 14" apes I jumped on it.
First I love the look and the looks I get with the apes. Second I find myself dragging the floorboards more than I used to. I would say it is easier to manuver in the twistys. I'm not completely sold yet, waiting on a 300+ mile ride to see how the comfort is, but so far I'm liking them.

Personally, I'm willing to take the turns 5 miles an hour slower and look cool as **** doing it...

Steve,

I just finished up a 1700 mile ride Reno, NV to Austin, TX, Apr 1 and back on May 1st. I loved every minute of it with my apes.
