No AAA Towing w/out full policy. Who else offers? 11 Months ago
Recently I asked about who has the best road side assistance coverage for motorcycles, as far as towing distance, and it seemed that AAA +RV was the best with 200 miles. But now I'm being told by AAA here in Calif that they no longer offer that without full motorcycle coverage.

Iv'e got Progressive, but all they offer is 15 miles. So what are the other options for roadside assistance only packages with longer distance coverage?

Check with the AMA. That's the only one I can think of right now. Dairyland might have enhanced coverage available.

There is a group but I can't remember the name for anything, they used to have big ads in jp cycles books, if I remember right they were a group of lawyers and I think I remember seeing them advertise roadside assistance. Sorry that's probably no help, maybe it'll remind someone else of their name though.

AMA site lists towing like this...

Towing services are covered up to 35 miles to the nearest qualified service facility (or to any other location requested by the member of equal distance at no expense to the member). If over 35 miles, the member is only responsible for the overages incurred after the 35-miles coverage

I guess my Progressive 15 is all I get lol

Rider Insurance comes with free roadside assistance and towing, but i think it's only 25 miles. I used it once, truck was there in 45min and lifted me into the hoist and carried me home. They also have awesome rates, was $62/yr for 50-100 limits, $180 if i wanted full comp & collision.

I just talked to AAA South here in Fl, this is what they told me the:
AAA Classic is $66/yr (4-5mile tows a year) add a motorcycle for $35/yr get an additional 4-100mi tows for the bike. $101/yr total
AAA Plus $99/yr (4-100mi tows for vehicle) $35/yr motorcycle (4-100mi tows for bike). $134/yr total
AAA Premier $124/yr (1-200mi, 3-100mi tows for vehicle) $35/yr motorcycle (1-200mi, 3-100mi tows). Total $159/yr

This is what they told me over the phone earlier today. I called them to check after reading the last thread on towing. Also I sat with a guy and his girlfriend for 3hrs Saturday night after they got a flat and had to wait for his parents to come from 150miles away. It got me to thinking, what if I were to hike off for the weeekend and get a flat and no one could come get me. I think for the price AAA offers a pretty good deal. Plus I'll be covered when I'm on roadtrips in the cage!

Here in Florida I have Geico... $10.00 added to 6 months coverage. They will tow up to 75 miles or to the nearest mechanic which ever comes first. What good is the coverage if your 50 miles from nowhere!

Maybe I need to call AAA again and talk to someone else. Either that or switch my bike policy to AAA too. As far as AMA, I just checked their web site and they only offer 35 miles.
