I received this PM today from the widow of Don Boyer (a previous RSC member who died almost a year ago in Indiana when a drunk minivan driver pulled out in front of him on his way home from work) A little background: Don and I had communicated via PM's here, and he confided to me that he regretted selling his Roadstar and buying a Harley Davidson. He offered me some Roadie parts he had laying around, and I rode over to pick them up the next weekend when we were camping near his town. We chatted, shared a few stories and I left with the parts strapped to my bike. Don was as nice in person as he was online. About two days later I read (here) about his death.

"We don't know each other, but the other day my youngest son and I were googling his late Dad's name (Don Boyer) and your post from this forum came up. I remember Don talking about a guy from OH that was coming to get some stuff that he had sitting in the garage for his bike. As you know, he passed away shortly after you were here, at the hands of a drunk driver. I won't be posting on the forum, but could you inform the others that I appreciate all of the prayers and well wishes and that we're all doing ok? The 1 year anniversary of the "accident" is coming up so that will be tough, but we'll get through it.

Dang... been a year. Copper chopper was a great guy... RIP Don.

Kind of choked up reading that, thanks for sharing her note with us John.

Thanks for remembering him, that's doing him some honor the right way.

Terrible, but glad to hear his family is healing

I hate hearing Stories about things like this.
They make me very sad.
My dad went the same way over 30 years ago,
and I can tell you that it never heals completely.
