The hubster and I were talking about this the other day when discussing making my own saddlebags in fiberglass for my bike. I think the wood bags could look ridiculously sweet as all get out, as long as the right wood is chosen and the work done correctly. If I could convince the other half, he would make some insane bags. I was even thinking that if we make wood, or just the blank for doing the fiberglass bags, I could do some wood carving in it. You could do all sorts of fantastic things to it as long as it was treated and made waterproof. I mean you could carve fantastic scenes on it in relief!!! You could even paint it black, or just go with a stain/wood finish; lots of possibilities.
