I got all the miles I cared to out of the Dunlop 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Finally put the ME880 front on. What a difference. 800's frt and rr now.

After having ridden the last 1500 or so on that old worn out wanderin rut follower, the 880 is like a dream. Slow speed turns so much easier too. I didn't like that it took 3oz to balance but was opposite the side stem tube. I also noticed the red dot on the 880 I monted directly opposite the stem, right where needed weights.

Need to adjust the neck bearings as it seems a bit loose on the stand, I'll get that when I get to the brakes (HH) in a few weeks, not that I need new, just want to make sure it's all good, before things go south... or I go north, like up to NC or something.

Next up is that Big Touring Seat, just like the one I missed out on

Had'em on my 03' and loved them. The stock Bridgestone's I have now are a bit squirrely at 60 +. Thinking seriously about going to the darkside next though.

Balance mark should be next to valve stem!

Time to break that tire in, George. How about a ride east? Let me know.

I done it backwards 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Sure StarSeargent, not sure what kind of schedule I have before months end LOL but I'm always up for a ride

I looked up Metzler's dot information, also found out some different things per mfr/tire for dots.

For Metzlers --
"What means the red point on the side wall? -- One of the last steps in producing a tire is aimed at avoiding any unbalance when mounted on the rim, that could affect the driving behaviour of the bike. Due to this fact the lightest position is marked with one or two red dots. The red dot marked position has to be mounted near the valve to guarantee an impeccable run."

For some reason I thought 180° from stem. Durrrr ... Sooo, I wound up w 1 1/4 oz more weight than the Dunlop as it's mounted. I did use the 90° valve stem tube, so could probably not have any weights if rotated. Now I wonder what, specifically, each mfr's color dots means. Now, who would advise to break the tire down and rotate? Dang!

Here is some dot info for non m/c tires

And if the tire has only a yellow dot?
Regardless of the type of wheel, if there is no red dot,
mount the tire with the yellow dot next to the valve stem.

OK, that makes sense for the yellow dot, but
what about the red dot?
The red dot is much more complicated than the yellow dot.
It indicates the “radial force variation first harmonic
maximum.”

OK broke it down and remounted with the dot at the stem. Took 1oz of weight to balance. I feel much better Thanks
