Re:First Bike 10 Months ago
My first bike was a 1947 Harley 125. Rubber band suspension on the forks and a handy oil measuring cup built in the gas cap. I was 12 years old and delivered a morning paper route--saved my nickles and dimes until I could come up with the $100 it took to buy thatt 5 year old monster of a machine ! Every cop in town knew me and never did say a word about my riding that thing early in the morning and delivering my paper routes. My dad told me pretty quick that the bike was for WORK ONLY !!!!! Had to bring it home and get on my bicycle to go to school. I rode that little Harley until old enough to get a DL, then bought a K model.

There is no telling how many bikes I have had over the 60 years since that 125. Mostly Harleys of some sort or another, but there have been a few Brits and Jap machines thrown in for good measure.Even owned a Wop bike for a while--a Guleri (sp) pretty good machine.
