Rain gear 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Well, spring is coming and with the price of gas it looks like
I'll be doing more riding in the spring, rain or shine and I'm
going to need some rain gear. I was looking at Phat performance
and seen a set I like. First Gear Rainman and would like to know
if anyone uses this product and how you like it as far as fit and
quality. If not what do you use? I would like a good set that I won't
have to replace every year. I'll try to post a link, so here goes
http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=50%2D5851
I don't know if that will work but this old guy is trying to learn how
to use this newfangled equiptment

Thanks
Denny

Deep breath denny.

I never used first Gear so I can't comment on it. I have frog toggs but I usually don't put them on. I just get wet.

I keep a yellow PVC rain suit in my saddlebags straight off the shelf from Lowe's. If I were smaller, I would probably consider a rain suit designed for motorcycle specific purposes, but old yellers kept me (mostly) dry on more than one occasion. BB

Just started riding a year and a half ago. Started out with a yellow PVC rain suit from K-Mart. It worked OK but didn't last long; couldn't take the wind. Boots had to be off to put the pants on.

I now have a rain suit from River Road. It is reinforced so that it can take the wind. It has zippers on the bottom of the legs so they can be put on with boots on. Ihe jacket has a flap to cover the zipper so that water doesn't come in through the zipper.

I like them! Clifford

Hey dennyo2
Like Musky, I use Frog Toggs.
They are light weight, but they still hold up well.
They also take up less storage space than most.
And most important for me, fast on,fast off.
Unlike Musky, I'm a wus, I use mine sometimes.

I had a set of First Gear rain gear.
They were really well built, just took up more space.

I use a Wal-Mart special found in their camping section. Have used it often and it works great. Couple trash bags for my feet tucked under the legs portion and secured with large rubber bands, and I am dry. Cheap but very effective!

I just ain't too bright. If it ain't raining I hate wearing them and once it starts raining I hate stopping to put them on. Why did I buy them?

I don't like the idea of wearing them either Musky, but I don't like
wearing wet clothes at work all night. It kind of makes hard to keep
my mind on the job

I do put them on if I have a long way to go. I've spent more than one day at work with wet clothes. Like I said. I ain't too bright. Frog toggs have a new model out I might look at. You can get them in Yellow. Just have to see if they roll up as small as the ones I have now.

Frog toggs
