One more question - Crash Bar Bolts 11 Months, 1 Week ago
Are the stock engine bolts OK to use when I install my bars? I'm afraid they may be just long enough to get into the threads to tighten things up, but not enough for a good hold.

What bars did you get? If you got the Yami big bars you should have got bolts with it.

Cobra fatty bars come with longer bolts also. 8mm heads vs the stock 6mm. much better.

The brand of the bars is unknown and there are no bolts with them. I guess I'll just measure the depth of the hole and the existing bolts to see if there's enough purchase once the bars are installed to give it enough stregth.

For those of you who actually buy stuff new, are the bolts that come with a new set of bars longer than the ones that are removed?

Here's a pic if that might help.

Looks like it might be the Barons bar. Contact them and see if they can send you the bolts or tell you what you need.

The cobra bolts were about a 1/2" longer. But They mounted between the floor boards and frame.

I used the stock bolts on mine just for that very reason the ones that come with the bars are too long. Mine works just fine and held with the first bar when I had the crash with the car.

Just to finish up this thread:

The stock bolts from the lower mounting holes were too short to mount (what appeared to be) Baron Big Bars on my Roadie.

I ended up getting 10MM fine thread bolt 25mm (stock is 15mm) long. Worked just right.
