Glad you're OK and glad you kept the bike up.

Deliberately hitting a bike with a car, especially at road speed, is attempted murder in my book.

AND EVEN MORE ESPECIALLY when the douche timed it to when he saw that there WAS oncoming traffic!

This is unbelievable.. So glad to learn you did not get badly injured.. I did some searching and found out Mr. POS bonded out with only $2,000 bond. Incredible.. Aggravated assault and only gets $2k bond... His arraignment date is Nov. 5th 1:30PM.

I'm sure he will enter a not guilty to the charge... I hope his own incriminating statement along with other evidence at the scene will enable the state to prosecute to a felony conviction..

With a little luck we'll find him here...

I wonder if they will ask you (GNR10) to appear or testify or whatever.

If I've heard correctly, you can post bond or whatever with 10% of the set value. If that's true, they set it at $20k. Still absurd for trying to murder someone. Don't take that as gospel truth. I haven't had any first hand experience with posting bond, just what I've heard.

I've got a bad feeling that this guy is gonna get off real easy

I think you need to have a good talk with the DA who probably will be pressing the charges. Charges should be more like pre-meditated attempted murder. Seems he had more than enough time to think about hitting the gas then to brake.

Any way, glad to know you made it thru okay.

Look again guys here is a quote from the arraignment "AGGRAV ASSLT-WITH A DEADLY WEAPON WITHOUT INTENT TO KILL (WI" so the cop wigged out on this some. Talk to the DA and show him the pic too.

If the bond amount he posted was $2,000, I'm betting that was it. No more. The percentage that an offender pays is rarely posted. Unless Florida is different.

Thank god you came thru it with injury or serious damage to the bike.
Nice riding.
Keep the pressure on the Police & DA for felony assault! Make a friend at some local paper. Court dockets get crowded and they get lazy and are happy to let a-holes like this plead down to speed things up unless you keep pressure on them.
And just because you have criminal charges pending does NOT stop you from starting civil action in most states. Check your state laws and by all means turn some azz-wipe ambulance chaser looking for a score loose on him.
I once had a beef with a contractor doing work for a neighbor who damaged a car on me. I had him charged with vandalism but also got a lawyer and told him I was happy with getting repairs covered and emotional satisfaction and that he could pocket the rest as long as we made the guy's life a living hell.
POS begged me to settle three times and ended up with a nervous break down.
Don't let 'em up!

BuffaloRider may have made out OK on getting a lawyer for the civil part, but it never worked for me. I've been 100 percent in the right on some of these deals, but if you do not have injuries the lawyers figure there is not enogh money involved. The suing for emotional trauma seems to only work on TV. I f you are not out missing work it is tough to go for anything.

Tha other part to remember is when you sue and win, all the court gives you is a piece of paper saying he owes you money. They are not involved at all in helping you collect.

And I agree with BuffaloRider on keeping the pressure on. Figure this guy is going to have some lawyer working on getting this for him. I had something happen that I wasn't going to let go. They kept issuing continuances, and I kept showing up. All of a sudden I did not hear anything. I called and they said it was dismissed, I did not show up the last time. Some how, some way, my notice "got lost"

This POS isn't getting off anything. He gave a statement saying he did it on purpose. People who willfully and maliciously seek to harm, who intentionally disregard human life or safety deserve nothing. He gave statements that just don't make sense too, a bona fide idiot. Friday's MRI shows additional disc damage, this will have impact on charges and sentencing etc.
