Hey hardone2get
Man, they look awesome!! Dig the skinny drag pipe look. The rear U-turn exhaust looks just like their Harley pipes. Pretty cool.
Will your new bags extend below your exhaust, or sit on top? Can't wait for more pix!

True Duals........... 4 Years, 2 Months ago
Good afternoon Gents....
After seeing the post on the Freedom duals...well, had to have a pair. Putting them on today! SO, I have a couple of questions....

1. The exhaust gaskets seem to be in good shape...any need to replace?

2. After pulling off the Cobra Speedsters...I noticed that the fine mechanic who
put them on did not do a very good job on sealing the joints ( which probably was not good for ride ) there was exhaust residue at every joint and on my
tranny cover. I could not see it with the pipes on... Cleaned off easily..

Is there anything I can do to avoid this myself?

Unless the header bolts were overtightened you can reuse the exhaust head gaskets.

We buy our RTV at CT. Any place you can buy autoparts should have some.

Re:True Duals........... 4 Years, 2 Months ago
Yes...

What you have to do is... after the intial install...check and retighten the clamps down the road......after a few hundred miles

so the carbon may be due to the owners lack of attention

The metals expand and contract....several times and more than likely retightening is necessary....
