Mr Breeze - She immediately said "oh I thought you had started to go." In actuality I was still in neutral and I'm surprised I had my hand on the bars instead of in my lap. Prob because I was getting ready to shift into first. She said her & her hubby had ridden bikes around the country for years. She was an older gal but seemed very "with it" & was nice & apologetic. Its still a pain in the butt that this happened but the bike is still ridable. Its just a little shorter than before.

If it's shorter it should turn a tighter circle now......right??

Anyway. No one hurt. You met what sounds like a nice old former rider. And, you get the new tail light you've been wanting.

One thing though. I would bet your fender was pushed up against your rear tire and just sprung back. You might want to take a close look at the belt tension.

Still looking for more taillight recommendations. Is LED that much brighter? also what are my options for changing up the "style"? I'm all for changing the turn signals too. any ideas?

I guess if I were to use this tombstone then I would have to use these bullets with it. any opinions on if I should go with amber or red? I like the idea of running lights and I think I read somewhere that the amber will run as running lights too.

Curt is this the option that you have?

LED is much brighter at night.

If you're going running lights then you need to go red. You can only have amber on front. It will certainly make you more visible.

That Tombstone in you link is nice.

No I took a set of front turn signals and put them in place of the rear lights and painted all the rear lens red. I now have running lights and turn signals both. I also added a license plate fram with a stop light built into it so I have two stop lights one low and one high.

Glad you are OK. I got a call from my Wife a little over a year ago, she was sitting waiting to turn left, when she got rear ended from a lady not paying attention. Her bike was totalled. She was OK though. We replaced her bike ASAP, she never missed a beat.

Look at J&P , Dennis kirk , Kuryakyn, Cruiser customizing, etc....., you will see something that strikes you. BB
