I had an old 82 Virago 750, wished i'd kept it, great running bike once I got it cranked. I rode everywhere on that bike, all my riding buddies would wait till I got mine cranked before firing off their bikes. Mine sounded like a couple of steel blocks rolling around in a drum till it finally caught a gear and spun the motor over, but it never failed me. Ahhh the memories of being a broke beginner biker, and still broke! I just could not find much chrome for the old school ride.

FB , Viragos are shafties , making Hardtailing them a JOB. Not impossible , but... They do have a triangulated swingarm with a hidden shock , so they kinda look hardtailed already. KZ...begging for a hardtail, but we'll see. BB

Well , it is a great hobby if you : 1. have patience, 2. Don't mind being outbidded on e-bay for an item everybody else needs too... 3. (this one's key) You have an Understanding Wife.

Does it pay for itself? If you do most/all the labor , you either make 1-5 dollars, or break even. If someone else helps you (local shop), you lose. I do it for the joy of it. My feelings get hurt (in a manly kind of way....of course) when I see a motorcycle someone just tossed aside like garbage , once it stops running. I've turned around a half dozen "dead" bikes in the last few years just because. BB
