The original buyer had a Mustang seat put on by the dealer right at he start; I am quite happy with it and I am 6'3". I absolutely love the Mustang drivers backrest.
I get a lot of Corbin seats for customers and they are absolutely first class quality! The only complaint I have heard about Corbin seats is the "pain in the wallet".
Don't forget that I have made an offer to get stuff for Road Star Clinic members for cost + 10% + shipping. I am a dealer for both Corbin and Mustang.

Poprivet - what do you have to do to get to your oil dipstick now? I have a friend w/ an 1100 w/ the corbin dual tour on it and its a great seat. do you find losing your quickrelease seat an inconvenience? (if you do lose it. I don't know)

With Corbin , you still use the quick release........as a matter of fact , with every seat I tried, it was still functional. BB

The front of the seat still fits in the quick release...
However there is a small bolt to be undone at the rear first...I carry
an M10 spanner and it takes only a few seconds to spin it out...then turn yer key and pop...
Besides if ya put only 4 quarts in .... you dont need to check yer dipstick til the next oil change

With my Mustang seat I never take the rear bolt out to check the oil. I just unlock the front and pivot the seat to the left.

Clifford, Does anyone make a chrome 8MM bolt for the seat that can be removed and installed by hand? It seems I saw and bolt with a Knurled head somewhere, but I've been looking and Googling for two days without any luck. My Corbin latches pretty tightly and I'm a little concerned that I'm going to regret it at some point........ say I need to get to the battery or tool kit on the side of the road.

You can pivot the Corbin???? 
and I feel much safer tightening the little rear seat bolt with a wrench

In all the seat discussions..we keep sayin this seat does this and that...
It is the frame of the roadie that determines what a seat can do...
If you want the seat to lower you and cup yer ass...then it will move you forward....dictated by the frame of the R*...
Good for short guys ..bad for tall....
Seats that dont lower...like the Ultimate are good for long legs cause they maintain stock seat height..but give you a firmer thicker more seat but they also can pitch your forward..
The stock seat is made of flimsy seat pan and materials but you can slide around on top and for long legs you can ride on top near the back of the seat...
If you cut out the foam to give you a pocket then yer seat is a piece of kleenex between you and the frame
GOOD luck..it is a difficult choice but...like fitting shoes...
one size does not fit all...
