Hi there RoadieSL
There is an excellent product that is made for scraches and swirls from age on windshields.
It called nouvus. It comes in nouvus 1, 2 or 3. 1 is for cleaning, shining, it's anti-fog and anti-static. 2 is for fine scratches and 3 is for worse.
I bought a Silverado windshield off ebay, got ripped off cause it was covered with scratches. I used nouvus and it worked well, didn;t get the gouges out but the others came out.
Phone the dealerships in your area to find it.
good luck

DO NOT EVER USE PAPER TOWELS OR SHOP RAGS TO CLEAN PLASTIC WINDSHIELDS!!!! DO NOT USE DISH OR LAUNDRY DETERGENTS CONTAINING AMMONIA! DO NOT USE GLASS WAX, WINDEX, OR ANYTHING ELSE MADE FOR GLASS WINDOWS!
The best rags for cleaning windshields are T-shirt remnants or terrycloth remnants. DO NOT RUB IN CIRCLES!! Rub back & forth in straight lines; horizontal, vertical, or diagonal doesn't matter.
When you are done cleaning, a coat of wax will help the next batch of bugs come off easily.

Have always used Honda's Pro Shine and a microfiber cloth... takes bugs and dirt off lickety split and leaves the windshield w/o a trace of markings, scratches, or dirt! Using it on the Roadies new windshield for a year now... and that winshield still looks brand new.

I've been using Plexus on mine. While it won't remove scratches it won't bother the coating, clean the crud and leaves the surface streak free.

After reading this thread, I can see that there are a lot of misconceptions about cleaning your windshield and plexiglass in general so here is a message from your windshield.
DO not use glass cleaners, unless it is "SPARKLE" glass cleaner. Also do not use pledge as it has an alcohol base that slowly breaks down the plexiglass surface. You don't want anything with alcohol or ammonia. If you don't have a special cleaner made for plexiglass or sparkle glass cleaner, use "WHITE" vinigar diluted to about five or ten percent.
First. lay a wet towel over your windshield for four of five minutes to soften the bugs and road film before you start.
ALWAYS us a SOFT cloth to clean and dry with. Terry cloth is one of the best.
NEVER use a circular motion. Wash with strait lines either vertically or horizonally but preferably vertical because it will make any scratches incurred over the years less noticable.
NEVER use rain-x on your windhield.
NOW you are ready for a coat of mild (non abrasive) wax to give it a protective coating and make it easier to clean in the future.

Dang.....if only the previous owner of my bike had known any of this. I'm also guilty of using Invisible Glass though too.

I'll tell you from personal experience, If you have a Memphis Shades w/s with good scratches from the Moron that owned it before you, Scratch X does wonders on them. A buddy bought a bike with a terribly scratched Memphis Shades shield, I was like, why not try something, I couldn't make it any worse......And with elbow grease and time, it really made a difference. Don't know about other brands, or OEM, but for Memphis , it worked. BB

I bought a replacement windshield from Cee Baileys and it came with a small bottle of their scratch remover. Works great!
