passenger floorboards 9 Months, 1 Week ago
Greetings. I checked out some old threads, but couldn't find an answer to my question, so I'm afraid I must make a perhaps tedious post. I have an 06 (brand new, leftover model with only 240 miles now) and I want to install passenger floorboards. What are my options? I like Cobra's precise fit and finish and I expect Kuryakyn is good too. Or should I go with Yami's own? It looks like Cobra uses it's own mounting bracket whereas Kury and Yami use an adapter to fit the stock mount. Does this mean I could not do the passenger peg "flip" with the cobras when I change the sound system and get lower pipes? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

The Yami have there own mounting bracket also. You won't use the brackets from the pegs. These can be flipped also if you put on lower pipes. I actually turned mine back over to the orginal postion. The floor boards are big enough you hit the back of your legs when your feet are on the ground or walking the bike.

So I guess it's just a matter of how much I want to pay. Yami's are quite a bit more than Cobra or Kury. If I plan to put the Kury covers on the driver's boards, then I guess it makes sense to use the Kuryakyn board for passenger. They plug into the peg mount with a spline adapter so you can get some angle on them.
Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.

I just baught a used set from one of members here that is the yami boards, but I also considered the Baron's boards, they have a good angle on them and more of a custom look. They are also solid chrome on the underside so they look great when folded up. JPCycles carry them and I'm sure if you checked the Barons site you will find them also. They seemed to be better priced. The yami boards I bought used were the chrome boards and also got the matching driver board covers all for 50 bucks plus shiping, so I made up my mind quick. I didn't want the dull aluminum stocker boards.

thanks very much. I had forgotten about Barons and I had a look at them on their site. They appear to have quite a lot of possibility for adjustment. Will have to spend some time on ebay as well. again, appreciate the info.
thanks

My '06 came with passenger floorboards stock (Silverado). But, If I were to put them on or replace the ones I have now... I would be inclined to go with the Yami bilet chrome... (when they're not in use, I like chrome plate and the visible star logo on the bottom...) But, that's just me...
I just don't understand why Yami insists on selling the brackets seperate from a set of passenger boards

Like using $999 vs $1000 in pricing -- it LOOKS cheaper that way when comparison shopping.

Personally, I went with the Jardine 1/2 passenger floorboards on e-bay cause the Mrs. can still wear some of those hi heels she has with them.

Interesting how passenger floor boards are so pricy. I shopped around and finally found them in J C Whitney. They were priced for under $50 at the time. Look just as good and mounted to the existing mounts.
