Junior Boarder Posts: 132 States with Helmet or Other Laws 8 Months, 4 Weeks ago   With good weather and vacation time both right around the corner, many of us will be taking some extended cruises very soon. Can anyone come up with a complete list of all states and whether they have helmet laws or any other law that would affect a road trip, and/or what a rider may need to take with them? It passed the House vote by 94-52 and is now in the Senate. If it passes, the new law will go into affect 8/28/08. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!! I'm from north central Illinois and was planning on a road trip to St.Louie to a Cubs-Cards game this year, then back home on the MO side of the Mississippi. Moderator Posts: 4871 Re:States with Helmet or Other Laws 8 Months, 4 Weeks ago   Word to the wise for the helmet wearing guys(from helmet law states)....if you are Licensed in a state that requires you to wear a helmet (like Ga. does), and are riding in a state that does not require a helmet (such as Fl. or S.C.), and you are involved in an accident in one of those non-helmet states not wearing your helmet , your insurance Does Not have to cover you , as you were both Licensed and insured in a state that Requires it.
