I personaly am not a painter. As an airplane mechanic for over 45 yr with most of my work being major repair, I have been involved with a lot of painting. I havent seen a painter yet who wasn't in love with Devilbuss equipment.

I have used the high volume low pressure (HVLP) guns for 5 years befor my factory closed, I painted rubber gasket seals for truck windows. They work great off of a pressure pot system, we used Binks guns. Before the factory closed I took a clogged one home and cleaned it out and have never used it due to not havint a pressure pot. But the guns do work good.

It depends on your level of use for the gun, personally I am ALL Iwata, guns and airbrushes, but at one time I was doing alot of painting, I dont do as much daily work now like base/clear jobs, I do the custom work now because it pays more and not so much of a time crunch on it.

If you just need one now and then it might be ok, but I can tell you this you get what you pay for with paint guns, I use the LPH400-134LVX, great gun, big price, but its the top dog, it makes for some damn good paint jobs.

Get the most you can afford for the level of work you plan to put it through.

Thanks guys for the info, I wont be useing it daily, just at home. Bike needs a color change and dont want it to turn out like chids finger paint.
I would even settle for a used one in good shape, as long as it doesnt break the pocket book.

You need to consider the compressor you have as you don't need the high pressure but you generally need a high flow rate which most cheap compressor can't output.

Yes, CFM is important also. And small compressors make a lot of water so be sure and get a trap.
