My father owned one when I was a kid so I've always had a soft spot in my heart for 'em. BUT all things considered I'll keep my trusty Road Star.

I have to have a two person bike, I am considering picking up another one. I would a Cross bones, or maybe the Yamaha Raider and take off the passenger seat. I am leaning to the Crossbones.

Other than to say I have a Harley NO. I have rode a few but wouldn't trade my R* for one. The R* just fit.

There's no secret about it. I want the Rocker C so bad I can taste it, but I wouldn't trade Mr. Grim to get it. I'll wait a few years and if I still want it I'll get it then.

Re:Anyone secretly want a Harley? 6 Months, 1 Week ago
I bought an new HD Electra Glide in 81'. I was in heaven, I had a Harley, the legend. Owned it ten months, it was in the shop for 4. After being re-built at 2200 miles I sold it. I loved the bike, but, without getting into details, anytime a company treats me the way they did I take my business elsewhere. Sure, it's been a long time and maybe it's a different company, but I hold a grudge for a long time. I've owned 11 other big cruisers and had good luck with them all and the dealers.
Anyway, my lust for a VERY large garage full of bikes is not a secret. So, my lust list:
Arial Square 4
Vincent Black Shadow
Indian in line 4 (Actually several old Indians)
An old Guzzi with the meat grinder flywheel
Some kind of radical chopper
An old school bobber.
Triumph Rocket III
Kawasaki 500 Mach III
An old Triumph Trident 750
Yamaha Venture
Yamaha Raider
And maybe, just maybe, an old classic Harley that I can bring to independent shops and buy after market products for.

No ... but it's like anything in life .... you gotta get it out of your system. Only then you can appreciate what best suits you, not what has been promoted as being best for you.

My Roadstar project is bike number 30 for me...
Including my current everyday rider Triumph triple,
and yes, a Kaw. Mach 3 triple. LOL
I've had many bikes in the old garage including
Yamahas,Kaws,several BSA's,Triumphs,a Honda, one CZ,
and finally...one Harley 45" project!
After building cheap-o English stuff,I attempted to
put together a HD bobber...lol
Didn't take long to figure out that I don't have the cashflow
to build HD's. LOL Over-rated,anyway.

I will say that the Crossbone's VERY cool. Hehee

As for the Ariel...I named my first daughter after the Sq. 4 !
(All of her friends think she's named after the mermaid.)
I even call her 'Squariel' once in a while. LOL
So, I too still have a dream bike list

I have ridden bikes all my life, I started with a Yamaha 60 and have had Harleys, Hondas and even a Triumph but the best has been the Roadstar. I have no problems just getting on it and going to California if need be. I cruise Northern New Mexico elevation from 4,000 to 10,000 feet, my RS is strong at any elevation. It out runs Harley when winding through the mountains. If I would get a Harley it would be a Harley Scat, Hummer, or Pacer, just to putt around town.

Got nothing personal against HD but the last one I had was a 2 wheel money pit. 'Course that was in the AMF years. Happy with the R*. Only toy I need.
