Junior Boarder Posts: 188 Mr. Cancilla's air filter question 8 Months ago   So yesterday I put that K&N filter on that seems to be getting very popular. I must say I think it looks a lot better than the stock box. However, when I installed it, I was able to get the hose clamp tight enough to where the filter doesn't come off. I took it for a short ride, wiggled and tapped on it and it seems secure. I know people are making brackets for it that attach at the original points. Your's on the other hand is a little bigger, and would you really want to risk it falling off on the highway? Then I grabbbed the carb and wiggled it up and down and realized with a rubber manifold that thing will come flying off of there without that brace. I also noticed the customs running a flat side with a velocity stack all had braces. there is something to it. Platinum Boarder Posts: 1838 Re:Mr. Cancilla's air filter question 8 Months ago   If you look at Mr. C's write up...you can see where he trimmed a little rubber off the piece the clamp goes around....to keep it from slipping off the carb as you tighten it.
