Sure, before I bought the roadie, I considered a Road King. It was tempting, until they started talking about financing for 6 years, eeks. I give them this, HDs hold their value. My R* with its near 4K in accessories is worth about 1/3 less than I paid for it new 4 years ago. The hype of the HD name and the stupid prices people pay for genuine HD merchandise and accessories is beyond my understanding but there is a huge market for HDs.
I am considering a touring bike, used, either a Ultra Classic or Gold Wing. Need to test ride them. The venture while cheaper is so outdated, still has a cassette player (or is it an 8-track

) and I don't really care for the buick dash, nor the lines, plus its still carburated.
IMHO, Yamaha (sorry, I mean Star Motorcycles) needs to redesign this bike from the ground up.
Would like the R* with the bigger 113 engine. The roadliner and its touring brother are butt ugly to me, but man is that throttle responsive and the bike was surprisingly nimble to me.
