Just curious if anyone plans to go to Delmarva Bike week Sept 11-14, I went last year and it was a great time, nothing like riding around with 100,000 of your closest friends. This year my wife and friends are joining me, so I called local hotels and I was floored by what they want for room rentals,(my wife travels a lot with her job, and will only stay in nice hotels), 200-350 per night for a room for 2 people is crazy, and we are going with another couple. I logged onto VRBO.com and found a 2 bedroom townhouse on the bay, 3 blocks from the Ocean, for $275.00 for 3 nights (split 2 ways is much more in line). I have used this web site several times to rent houses while on family vacations, and I have never been disapointed. If you log on and are looking for a house, I tend to look at the prices as sticker prices, and nobady pays sticker price for anything. I usaually just send out about 50 emails to house owners with a price I would be willing to pay, and then I choose from the ones that responded.

I might make it there one of these days. I will have just gotten home from a 5-day, 2,000-mile ride throught New England and up into Montreal. I'll be home for 4 days then off to Ghost Lake, Wisconbsin for a work thing, where I'll also be doing a little fishing. I have a feeling my wife would not be too happy if I tried to squeeze even a day down at the Eastern Shore.
