Nope, the soft leather cover like you see on Curts bikes. with the Ultimate seating pushing me forward, I want to protect the tank.

I'm thinking of getting one too JW. I've noticed some minor marks on the tank from my jeans already. I imagine it comes with destructions.

I just installed the new mini tank cover from yamaha. They look and work great, You just remove lower bolt on instrument cluster, slide tank cover under, reinstall the bolt and put the 2 pieces of velcro underside of gas tank which are included and rap the tank cover under the bottom edges of tank and your done. took me about 3 mins. to install and it looks great. there is a picture of a Black silverado with hard bags that has the same one that i just put on. I hope this answers your question. You dont have to remove the tank, very easy to put on

yup, just like they said....so easy even I could do it and it only took a couple of minutes. i have the ultimate too...and the tank cover works good
