Feeling at one 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
A few days back, I was out for a joy ride early in the day. I was out early enough to beat the unrelenting Florida summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms. I didn't have a lot of time, but I covered 80 miles or so. There was little to no traffic, the temp was about 80 degrees, the sun was out, the Roadie was in impeccable form. I totally felt at one with the bike and the road. If not for other commitments, I felt like I could have ridden for hours.

I take lots of joy rides and also run lots of errands on my Roadie. There was just something different about this ride. It was one of those rare moments in time where everything was good in the world.

I hope each of you get that feeling on your Roadie, at least once in a while.

Happened to me today this was my wife's first time on her bike out of the neighborhood. Riding behind her to St. Augustine through the back roads was the most relaxing ride I've had in months. She road perfect through traffic and turns, stops, and people cutting out in front of her. She wants to ride 95 south next, so J&P here we come.

We took the MSF course together 2 weeks ago, after 30 years of riding I am finaly street legal. (My last bastion of Rebellion)

I've always said there are times when the bike is enjoying the ride as much as the rider.

This past Saturday morning was the same for me. Got out around 7:30 am and headed north to visit my brother and see his new cottage on a resevoir in the notheast corner of Ct.. It's about an hour ride if I take the Tpke. and longer if I take my ususal backroad route but forcasts of afternoon T-storms made me decide to go the Tpke route. There was little traffic and the leather jacket was open with the morning sun shining I was thinking, does it get any better than this? An early start, good weather, a most bodacious fine running motorcycle thundering along beneath you. And vacation begins tomorrow to boot Have a great summer everyone.
