I have some on my bike and used to think they sounded great. Not too loud and not too quiet with a good overall sound. Now it's either my imagination or not but they sound a little "tinny" for lack of a better word. Mine almost sound like the baffles or a guard is vibrating. Could be your baffles have worked loose. I'm not sure which. Also, this might sound crazy but my pipes look more like the ones in your picture than they do in mine.
