A few friends and myself have been planning on going to Key West on our bikes the first week of Sept. I guess it's a safe bet to say that we probably won't be stopping at Myrtle Beach.

You guys are missing the whole point! White Bike week is just that. A great time for those of us who have the good taste to ride WHITE BIKES. Every week is White Bike week.

Ok, let the emails fly!!!!

Wow...sorta makes me want to stick to the mid-west. I've never been to any of the big rallies and only had a small hankerin' anyway.
I'm with WhiteStarNC on this one. Of course, a white AND black bike week would be a classy showcase

Re:Myrtle beach 3 Years, 7 Months ago
As someone who has been to the past two spring rallies at MB, I think this is rediculous. Ten years ago, shortly after moving from Colorado to NC, I had the great displeasure of ending up in Myrtle Beach during " black bike week". I was simply on vacation with my family and had no idea, but left quickly due to the lack of personal respect and complete recklessness of the situation. To anyone who hasn't had an opportunity to witness both weeks, let me assure you, there is a HUGE difference. I believe the crowd during "black bike week" is who they targeted with this, but to avoid issues made it for all of May. I guess I'm glad to be back in Colorado now. It doesn't affect me as directly and now I just need to find a new group of guys to ride with.

Ha ha! Nothing wrong with that as long as you don't have a white seat and saddle bags. If I had that I would have to put "snowman", "whitey", or "pimp" on the gas tank. It pretty much goes downhill after that

road burner, I have no doubt that there is a huge difference. It's a shame though that they have to get rid of the real bike week too because they are too politically correct to just target the problem bike week.

All they have to do is have the same amount of police officers monitoring both weeks and let the stats speak for themselves. But, we all know that the cops will just be labeled racists when they are just doing their jobs Very little self accountability left these days....

Re:Myrtle beach 3 Years, 7 Months ago
I have a couple friends at the HD dealership in MB. And visisted with them most of last week while there on vacation.

This was spurred further by this years "urban" bike week. The main influence came from an incedent where a gentelman notice some bikers parking in his front yard, so he walked out to ask them to park across the street, at which time he was shot and killed in his yard.

Other events leading to this were the fact that during the same "urban" bike week, bikers in groups of 15 and 20 or more would have the meals, and get up and walk out. And not to mention the shoplifting rate increases nearly 600% in that week alone.

Granted the first 2 weeks of bike week (cruising the coast & myrtle beach bike week) bring in an estimated $500 million in revenue, it only take the one week of thug week to ruin it for us all.

It dosent matter what color or race you are, there is no cure for stupid, life is hard, but its harder if you are stupid. You cant cry racism or prejudice when you choose a lifestyle that affords such stereotypes. Stupid is as stupid does..... That's what mama always said.

Was just down at MB today. Its a shame that this could get canceled. All of the bike shops I went in to had petitions to fight it. Also at B&M cycles, I was told that there's a group of local attorney's that will fight on behalf of the business owners to keep the biker weeks there.

also if anyone gets a chance, drop in and see the sweetie at Rockin Leather with red streaks in her hair! She's a doll and convinced the wife & I to drop $240 there this afternoon!
