what the? 2 Weeks, 4 Days ago
Man, I went to a well known lobster joint for dinner (red). What is giong on with the size of the fish? Have we depleated the ocean to the point that nothing is left? My $20.00 plate looked pitiful. I remember when I was a kid shrimp were huge and lobster did not look like crawfish. Mabye my gut is bigger now and everything just seems smaller. I felt bad eating thinking the game warden was watching. This stuff looked like it should have been thrown back. Even the biscuits were smaller. I guess this is forced portion control.

I've noticed that too. If you are talking about the lobster (red) joint I think you're talking about . I don't really care for that joint anyway.

Think its one of those... prices go up don't jack up the price so much thing; rather cut back on the size. Think about it... a half gallon of ice cream is now 1.75 quarts now. Potato chip bags have shrunk; rice-a-roni, etc.

Breyers Ice Cream (at least around here) is 1.5 Quarts...Why don't they just say 3 pints? It used to be my favorite, but now I just do without.

I agree price is going up and quantity is going down on almost all products. But I will say that I have noticed on my many trips into the US that restaraunt portion size could really use some down sizing. Almost all meals I have had there and there have been many are suitable for 2 people. Here in Canada our portion sizes are smaller but are increasing at a rapid rate.
If it is value for the dollar you are looking for, you may as well stop looking now and save yourself the stress of it all. To say that an 8oz steak and a couple of green things is worth 25 bucks is robbery but the market will pay it.
Good reason to go on a diet i guess.

I've gotten into the habit of getting one meal and splitting it with my wife. At first she thought I was being cheap, but she's come to realize that portion sizes are large in this country and if we split, we aren't stuffed; aren't taking food home and sometimes have room to split a dessert. Plus we can always order another meal if we aren't satisfied. We save money this way.
