Re:What's your occupation 3 Years, 3 Months ago
I was reading thru this thread and discovered there are lots of you that are getting ready for retirement. Well at 47 yrs old I retired after 25yrs with the Government and took off 6 months. I'm 48 now soon to be 49. I started to lose my mind shortly after 6 months. I thought it would be great to do, collect my pension and fish, ride and whatever everyday but let me tell you, I could not wait to get back to work. Retirement sucked for me because there is nobody around, their all working!!! So I went back P/T and glad I did. Not saying its a bad thing for you, just did not work for me at the time. Waiting for my kids to finish High School and College then the wife will stop working. Thats when I'll try it again. "Retirement Part 2, The Travel Begins". Good Luck to you guys that are getting ready but have a backup plan just incase. Just some friendly advice.

Still pretty new to this group, noticed this thread has been going for a long time but felt i could add my history to the list. I've been a math teacher for the past six years, and spend my summers taking classes. Looking foreward to spending that time riding from now on, nothing better than a summer with the freedom to do what you like (at least mostly, sometimes my wife has a hand in the choice of activities.) I can't wait to get up into the Idaho mountains and take in the scenery on the new Star. I'll get my pic up soon hopefully, waiting for good weather so I can actually get the bike out! Come on Spring.

I'm a computer programmer and network administrator. Been in computers since punch cards were how you saved your programs and NetBios name resultion was the norm. I have worked for local government for around 20 years, before then a stint in the US Army as a Cavalry officer and before then college. I got lucky and was able to go back home to the UK to teach for three years but have been back in Florida now for nearly two years and got my old government job back and loving it. Other than tinkering with bikes and cars, computers is all I know.
