I am not Catholic, but have been watching the mornings events very closely.

My Catholic wife has as well.

To all the Catholics here, I want to share with you my heartfelt joy in the appointment of the new leader of this church. I was a huge fan of John Paul II, and look forward to hearing the announcements regarding the new Pope.

The speed with which this conclave executed its mission is impressive, and encouraging. It seems to point to a well thought of individual for this appointment.

My prayers are that this new individual will continue the mission of John Paul II, who so clearly understood both world politics, and his role in them.

He will not be forgotten by those of us who revered his work and love for all people.
