SS Question 4 help 2 Years, 3 Months ago
I turn 66 in Nov so my SS starts. I applied 2 years ago when I lost my job and only collect it for 2 months then I found my new job. I went on line today to do my weekly bill paying and WOW. There was a pending deposit for $15,500.80. What the hell is going on this can’t be right! Any one out there drawing SS able to answer me what the deal is? Surely this is a typing mistake and it is only really $1,500.80. ??????????: unsure:

Take the money and run Curt!

You might want to contact your local SS office and see if they can verify that amount.

Yep PT I sure am going to call the SS office for sure. It has got to be a mistake by the bank or the SS office. I'm betting it is the SS office and not the bank the bank doesn't make mistakes. The Government on the other hand is one big mistake. If it’s not a mistake the that will wipe out all my bills and have enough left to start building me another bike. Heck I can retire sooner than I thought.

Boy I could be so lucky. Man if it isn't a mistake I am a lot better off than I figured I would be. Why would it be such a large amount? Is it some kind of back pay? Bet there will be some big taxes on it any way.

Your qualifying age for full benifits was probably 65 and it's back pay for the last year

I was born in Nov 1943 and according to the chart my full retirement age was 66 yo but I have been working ever sence I was 14. Could that be it? I went in the Air Force when I was 17 yo.
