Platinum Boarder Posts: 3517 Eyelet/Grommet Machine info? 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago   I know this is a motorcycle forum, but this is the "Non Motorcycle Topics" area. Anyone here have any knowledge/experience with an eyelet/grommet machine? I've been thinking about buying one, but don't know anything about them other than what they do. I know there are different sized dies that are used, but I don't know anything about the quirks of the machines or their minimum/maximum capabilities or what questions to ask. Seen them at larger craft stores. I'm sure there are some drawbacks/advantages to the different types of punches and settings and the brass or stainless grommets and sizes. Are you talking about electic or the hand held ones? The big eleictic ones are pretty much one size grommet. Ether a #l about 1/4" diameter hole, #2 about 3/8" and so on. Theyuse the same grommets in both the hand held and the machine. I was looking at the handheld ones originally, and then I saw the ones that resemble a drill press. They sit on a tabletop and have a handle and seem more stable and durable.
