The XD40 was my first carry gun and is still in rotation, you just can't kill it, they go for right around $400 around here. In winter I carry a Kimber and for summer I just bought a SR40c. The SR40c is on very accurate pistol for me but I had to send it back to Ruger, the trigger wouldn't reset every time. The work order said they replaced basically everything inside the thing. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet to see if it is fixed though.

I do like the Walther P99, and just in case you didn't know Dave they make it in 40 and S&W makes a licensed copy with a Walther frame that is usually a little cheaper.

Yes, the Interarms ones were all made in Germany. The smith version has the upper made in Alabama somewhere I believe. This is one instance where Made in USA is not necessarily a good thing. There is a reason the Interarms ones are more expensive. I have a M&P as well as a Sigma that cover the .40 category.

I have never even shot an XD but my brother has 1 and really likes it.

springfield make a nice gun, i like'em. is the new 9mm gunna be your carry?

Yep, gave up an M&P compact for it. Got a Galco Triton on the way. Had the same gun in .40 a few years back but had to sell it. Luckily it went to my wingman so I still get visitation Decided to stick to 9mm this time as they are a bit less "hot" than 40 cal. I really wanted to pick up a Springfield Champion but would have had to give up my current 1911 too Personally I would rather carry 45acp but make no mistake 9mm will do the job, have you read the news lately?
